Pasco pulling out of YYF?

Post by quikfixxx »

I heard a rumour... anyone know anything?

If true, I am surprised they weren't able to make this route work.

Can't keep a route with empty seats. During the highway closure up there Pasco flew people from penticton to kelowna at a loss to try and rally support within the community.

2 crashes and a plummeting economy, Pasco could be done altogether.

Amazing that even with all the news on credit problems, people still do not understand financing. Pasco OWNS their airplanes, not the bank. What could possibly cause them to "be done altogether"? They may well downsize, cancel routes, and layoff people, but the company itself will continue to function to produce whatever level of service the plummeting economy requires.

The Penticton run was quite handy, but I only saw it more than half full once. I would not be surprised if they cancelled it.

Interesting topic here..

I saw an article in the Vancouver Sun recently where an off duty pasco pilot had a wreck on a glacier flying a C172 on skis.

The article then went on discuss the previous crashes this year and try and paint the 172 wreck with the same brush as the Goose crashes. The press then interviewed spencer smith who said quite correctly that what pilots to in their off time (flying wise) is none of pasco's business or the media's for that matter. GOOD ON HIM!

Im sick of hearing PASCO this PASCO that.. yes, they had two wrecks.. hopefully they can learn from it and move on and enhance safety as a result. * in no way am I underscoring the deaths that occured as a result of the crash*

Its the same thing with the " recession" .. We're in a recession partially because of the media! They (the media) seems like whenever they have some sort of agenda they latch onto it and don't let it go until something happens... hopefully that won't be the desruction of pasco.

Hell, they said recession this recession that.. now depression blah blah blah ..and look where we are!! Hermmmmmm

I guess my point is that considering that they are th esole operator to Calgary from YYF, they couldnt fill a 19 seat plane economically??

I wonder how the other routes are doing? Given the major cutbacks at the Trail smelter, CAD4 could be next?
