So the ppl that made the jump from somewhere to Jazz FO to WestJet real quick had the 500 or so turbine MPIC before Jazz...
Which means 704MPIC >>>> 705SIC.
Which means 704MPIC >>>> 705SIC.
...and then I got paid to fly....

Hopefully it means your application is being reviewed by WS types.Anyone know what it means if your workopolis application has had three views?..other than the obvious..
I know in my case the resume would insidiously switch from 'non-searchable' to 'searchable'. So the views I'd get weren't necessarily from WS. Too much personal info at risk so I removed myself from the game. I know, I'm paranoid...my loss.

On going, as were hiring 120 next year.

Don't worry. There's still expansion and hiring for 2011.flying4dollars wrote:That's a promising number! Just wish I had the time to be considered. Almost!
Hhhmmm, is this thing on?
Re: anybody been called yet?
How do I get my foot in the door? I've got 5500 hours. 1020 Hours Turbine Pic in an Embraer 145. So far, I've been without success. How crucial is it to know somebody on the inside to get a call? I've been in the US for too long and don't know a soul at WJ.
Re: anybody been called yet?
Don't worry Canam, you'll get the call.. eventually..

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

Canam,
With only 30-40 hired over the past year, and next to none at any other major airline in Canada, competition has likely gotten stronger for a job at WestJet. DaveP would know for sure. You might consider pming him directly here then try to come to YYC for a chat especially as you have no "ins" at WestJet.
2010 estimates are for about 120 new hires and continuing into 2011. All subject to change of course.
Your time should rank you high on the matrix (you've applied, right?).

Re: anybody been called yet?
I have noticed that I have 7 hits on my profile (workopolis), but still no calls from HR. Has anybody been recieving calls or the phone interview of late? Just want to know how the process is running. Thanks.
Re: anybody been called yet?
I don't think they are using workopolis anymore. You should go to the WestJet homepage and under 'about us' there is a drop down menu. There you will find 'great jobs', then 'how to apply', then 'great jobs' or 'pilot jobs' (they both go to the same place). Type pilot in keyword and search. Then you'll see an icon at the end of the pilot job line.
This will take you through initial application process on 'Sonic'. There are no indications of 'views' on this system. There is some info on this process on the '6500 hours for an interview?' thread.
Good luck!

Hi Dave,
How important is the 500 PIC multi turbine requirement, glass and french? Will you look at jet time without glass in lieu of those requirement?
Thanks
