Love Light In Flight, by Stevie Wonder. He's one of my all time favourite artists.
"Make me feel like paradise, give me what I'm missing. Send me to the highest heights, take me up and away"

Inspirational Flying Songs
How about "Dreams" by Van Halen. They put this song to a great video with the Blue Angels when they were still flying the A-4 back in '86.

Then of course there's this one, especially for those of you who have spitfire fantasies...
Aces High - Iron Maiden
There goes the siren that warns of the air raid
Then comes the sound of the guns sending flak
Out for the scramble we’ve got to get airborne
Got to get up for the coming attack.
Jump in the cockpit and start up the engines
Remove all the wheelblocks there’s no time to waste
Gathering speed as we head down the runway
Gotta get airborne before it’s too late.
Running, scrambling, flying
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live. aces high.
Move in to fire at the mainstream of bombers
Let off a sharp burst and then turn away
Roll over, spin round and come in behind them
Move to their blindsides and firing again.
Bandits at 8 o’clock move in behind us
Ten me-109’s out of the sun
Ascending and turning our spitfires to face them
Heading straight for them I press down my guns
Rolling, turning, diving
Rolling, turning, diving, going in again
Run, live to fly, fly to live, do or die
Run, live to fly, fly to live, aces high.

To nitpick, it was the Mann Gulch fire. The song itself is based upon the book "Young men and Fire" by Norm Maclean. An excellent read!Cold Missouri Waters by James Keelaghan. Song about the smoke jumpers that died on the Mann Creek fire in Montana in 1949.
I wouldn't have expected to find another Keelaghan fan on this website. Well met, sir. You have fine taste in music.

DeskDriver yer right, it was the Mann Gulch fire. A couple of hours after I'd posted that I couldn't remember whether I'd written gulch or creek, but figured what the hey, there are probably no Keelaghan fans around anyway.
I like Keelaghan, I've got five or six of his cd's. Check out the story behind his song about the Captain Torres. Very moving. The ship foundered near St. Paul's Island in the Gulf of St. Lawrence north of Cape Breton. The crew was mostly from Fiji and the officers were Kiwis. This was the days before sat phones and stuff, and when the Captain realized there was no chance of rescue because of the weather, he called the CG Radio in North Sydney on his ship-to-shore and had them patch through on the telephone so the crew could call their relatives half a world away to say goodbye. They were only allowed a couple of minutes each to talk to their families.
One of the members of Iron Maiden, I forget which one, flies the 737 for Astraeus, a charter operator in the UK.

Treetop Flyer
From - Banana Wind
I could be a rambler from the Seven Dials
I don't pay taxes 'cause I never file
I don't do bid'ness that don't make me smile
I love my aeroplane 'cause she's got style
I'm a treetop flyer
Treetop flyer
I fly any cargo that you can pay to run
The bush league pilots, they just can't get the job done
You've got to fly down the canyon, don't never see the sun
There's no such thing as an easy run
I'm a treetop flyer
Treetop flyer
I fly low, I'm in high demand
Go 15 feet over the Rio Grande
I blow the mesquite right up off the sand
I'm seldon seen, 'specially when I land
I'm a treetop flyer
Born survivor
Now people been askin' me where'd you learn to fly that way
Was over in Vietnam, chasin' the NVA
The government taught me, and they taught me right
Stay down below the treeline and you'll be alright
I'm a treetop flyer
Born survivor
So I'm comin' home, I'm runnin' low and fast
Promised my woman this is gonna be my last
I get the ship down, I tie her fast
And then some old boy wakes up, and he says
"Hey son, wanna make some fast cash?"
I'm a treetop flyer
Well there's things I am
And there's things I am not
Yes I'm a smuggler and I could get shot
I ain't gonna die, I ain't going to get caught
You see I'm a flying fool, and this aeroplane is, woo, hot
I'm a treetop flyer
Born survivor
Workin' alone
