a big thanks to the awesome crew on AC113 yesterday from YOW to YYC from this kool-aid driver.
I appreciate the recip J/S from Capt. Butler and the great service from the back end crew. Got me home in time to go to the boss' birthday bash.

Ah yes, not surprised you had a great flight with Capt Butler. He is a a class act for sure.
And you are a class act for saying thanks. I've seen too many amongst our industry that seem to take the J/S for granted and don't acknowledge with a thanks. Not saying that it's expected but, it's a small thing that goes a long way if you know what I mean. Cheers!!!

brought a Perimeter kid all the way up from S. America the other day. Never even saw him. Oh well. Hope he enjoyed the free flight, dinner, movies and some booze.

As the Ops Manager at Perimeter, I wanted to post a quick note to thank you and everyone at Air Canada, and Air Canada Jazz for the reciprocal jumpseat agreements. It is a huge benefit to our pilots and they appreciate it very much. As a pilot group they have already sent out a blanket email to all their fellow pilots regarding your post in hopes that it doesn't happen again.

In return of the reciprocal agreement I have been issuing confirmed seats to all requests from the AC/Jazz pilot group on their desired flights. I have been proud to have returned the favor, as I know usage is a little one sided.

Once again, thanks for the agreement, and if any of your fellow pilots would like to travel anywhere we fly (http://www.perimeter.ca), please have them give me a call.

i work for perimeter and have used the jumpseats a few times and am always greatfull to get a seat i try to talk to the crew before hand but i also wait till last to deplane and thank the crew again for the lift and maybe sneek a peek at the cockpit too lol

Took one of your pilots to Trauma yesterday. I mean Tzero. Oops I mean Toronto.

I managed to meet him. He was going further on. Not sure where. Class act anyway.

Hospitality is a two way street.

Gotta say that very often I am not a very good host. Many times the first clue there is a jump seater is 10 min before departure when an agent presents ID to the FD, with a request for a coupon. But ya know, operation first, and the agents are very busy too.

Late, A/C change, MEL, Crew change, 35min turn, Printer for flight plan won't work, computer rest.......

Was myself on a WJ flight after I finished in

You know where.

I never managed to get direct contact with that crew.

I thanked the FA's on the way out and asked them to say thanks to the pilots. I don't even know if they knew what I was thankful for.

Hospitality is a two way street.

Please don't assume I am not thankful for the ride if I don't force contact with the pilots. If you want to meet me please make sure you make yourself available.

On the flip side. Please don't assume I am being rude if I don't make myself available when you jump seat with AC. I might be busy. I might have forgotten ( likely reason ) you are there by the far end. I'm old ya know.

Why don't we all just assume we are all thankful. That no one is being deliberately rude. If the opportunity presents itself we can then express our gratitude. If the opportunity doesn't present itself? Then it didn't.

I use the reciprocal agreement quite a bit and I feel very fortunate that our small airline is able to participate. I always try to arrive early for every flight and remain positive and polite regardless of whether I'm able to make it on or not. I also make it a habit to thank everyone involved, gate/ticket agents and pilots. Unfortunately sometimes an opportunity doesn't present itself to thank everyone directly.

Hi Trevor,

As one who recently enjoyed a "winter getaway" to Thompson Manitoba via the recip jumpseat agreement, let me say I agree with every word above.

I thanked the pilots on both my perimeter flights and welcome any of recip jumpseaters on my flights!

PS I realize that it is difficult at times for a jumpseater to say "hi" on board but I know that every one I've carried has been very appreciative (even carried one WJetter to Europe in J-class!)

It sure would be nice if AC could change their J/S policy to accomodate more than 1-2 recip' crewmembers. I know you guys have to pay at WJ to go standby but we'll take you all if there is room. Although I've been lucky to get on once or twice, I've shown at your gate a few times only to be told no even though there is tons of room on the flight.

No harm no foul, just my 2 cents...

Well everything has its limitations, pretty darn happy that AC has the agreements in place to begin with....their standby network is quite congested as it is....No complaints from the folks at Perimeter

Coolest move I ever did see was from a 727 fella (I think) that was JS'ing and waited to be the last one off. He poked his head in and told us how much he appreciated the ride, then handed us a Tim's card with two coffee's on it. Absolutely not required, but definetly classy.

I just returned from overseas on AC851. It was a 777. Thanks again for a great flight. The Crew were great.
