I had a heart attack but was able to renew my ATPL. But I did not have high blood pressure. They may have to castrate you or, if it can be controled with medication, you should be OK.
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Zestoritic 20/12.5 ( or the generic Listinopril 20/12.5) one a day, about 4 years, no issues. Brought the BP down from about 160/120 to under normal now ( 110/70). Also good to get out and do some evening walks, plus try to manage daily stress.
I also bought a home- BP cuff, and kept a daily/hourly record. That record ( several weeks) was submitted to TC. They aren't much $$$, check them out....
The local MD ( and perhaps TC ? ) could see that the BP's were much higher when confronted by a "white coat" in the Clinic than my typical daily readings.

Yes, In my case a very low dose vascular dialator was prescribed. No time off work but I do keep a weekly log (1 reading) and take it to my medicals. Change of lifestyle regarding weight management, regular exercise and reduced sodium has brought it into the low normal range.
Consider it a wake up call!

Every single one of my captains. I will consult them for you.
Re: Anybody flying with high blood pressure?
I have a tendency to high blood pressure. About 150/90 is my max.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a water pill that works for me. I can reduce my blood pressure naturally by walking every day. My blood pressure goes down to normal without pills if I keep my weight below about 190 lbs.
A nurse told me to take a deep breath through my nose and exhale slowly through my mouth e few times just befor the BP check and it does lower the pressure for awhile. Try it just the cuff goes on. It works.
And avoid this:

Pre-Natal Classes help....
Cleansing Breath
The first type of breathing you will probably learn in your Lamaze class is the cleansing breath. This is a deep, slow inhalation through the nose and a slow exhalation through the mouth. Cleansing breaths are used at the beginning and end of each contraction. Also known as a signal breath, a cleansing breath acts as a signal to your partner than a contraction has begun and ended.

Re: Anybody flying with high blood pressure?
K here's what NOT to do after reducing blood pressure to validate a medical for yet another 6 months (or a year)
1) Head from the doctors office to your local pizza place for a large and greasy cheese pizza (for yourself)
2) Then proceed to the local 7-11 for the largest drink (Super Gulp) to wash down said greasy pizza
3) Combine greasy pizza with super gulp as a congratulatory prize to yourself for cheating another passed medical again
True story....you know who you are!!!!!
