I'm kinda curious myself. I wonder if they might be doing something with Westwind Aviation.

Any hiring still to be done? Anyone know requirements? I'm guessing that if they are gonna fly those old gas guzzling F28's I don't meet em anyway

Nevermind RVSM, I heard most (if not all) of the F28s were due for C check. Now with Jetsgo and Canjet pushing west, where would they even fit in flying fuel pig F28s? Sounds like a good investment to me, rumour has it they are still seeking a few million

I`m surprised to see them using those old ex regional fokkers. Those planes were maintenance heavy and fuel drainers. I heard a rumour that one of them had reinforced landing gear and was used on a/c carriers. Forget the ident maybe TEO

I guess thats true. A source told me that apparently they did land one on a carrier with different wings and gear.

No Affiliation with Norcanair from what i hear.
Not to go off topic but i heard Norcanair has big plans for 2005.

I doubt that the PRM (Person Responsible for Maintenance), is thinking about certifying those planes for RVSM. But rather, just making sure they can stay up in the air.

From what I've heard their only plans for 2005 are going tits up. With the quadrupled insurance rates for all NDA and Norcan, 1 Metro, staff morale in the sewer, an owner who doesnt have a clue about anything, I wonder how they have been managing this long. Things have slowly went down hilll for them eversince the 172 hit the truck on the Athabasca.

The rumors about TWA going under have been around since their inception. The rumor is around every year at this time. Transwest planes are always heard in the air, and the only planes of the preachers are the 1 Metro stilll flying(when its not broke). Dont know how the one Metro can keep things going for DW, and the Jetstreams, Saab, King Airs, Navajos, and Twin Otters arent making money for JG and PC.

Ya i cant comment too much, because i am not in the info loop or in Saskatchewan enough to know it all  Last time i was in YXE the metro was leaving the terminal, but the sh*tstream was grounded :?: but who knows.

I heard threw the grapevine that Norcanair is Purchasing 2 metros in YVR and 1 or 2 Dorniers in YYC

Also heard Transwest's Cp left them in 04 and is now CP at Norcanair??

The CP left TWA a while ago and moved over to Norcanair as the CP of 704 operations.

Lets face it anyone who has flown in Saskatchewan, has heard all those stories. The fact is transwest is in hock with everyone because PC likes to have his finger on everything. I was told by an engineer from TW that they cant order anything. They have to run everything thru him. He doesnt want anything extra laying around. And as far as ND/NOR for years even their own pilots have thought they we going under, then they bought an otter, then again the rumors flew, they were selling the otter and going under. Then wouldnt you know it in comes a few metros. If I worked for TW i would get nervous every time someone talked about ND/NOR going under. Who knows what they'll get next, I'd believe just about anything.

That just burns me when i hear that! And people wonder why there is sometimes comunication problems between engineers and pilots.
Pilots are P*ssed because snags arent getting fixed, thinking that the engineer just doesnt want to fix it , the Engineer is p*ssed because he is waiting on some manager A-hole to decide whether or not to order parts or components  CMON! The next time TW has a snag they should just ground the plane till the "manager" decides to order the parts, then we will see how fast stuff gets ordered. I mean really does he really think the Engineers want to order stuff so that they can take up more space in the shop. Give your head a shake (managers) Do you really want to be the next SKyward?

It seems to me that as soon as someone starts a whiff of anything to do with Norcan or NDA or TWA for that matter, it opens a can of worms and a lot of NDA/Norcan/TWA trashing. I LOVE IT

To bring this thread back on topic, I was in YXE in August, and up close those Fokkers need alot of work... let alone paint and engines, some need windows, and others critical surfaces... I wouldn't be surprised if something or someone was living in some of them...

When I was with Westex, there was a group of investors looking to get into aviation in a big way. Were looking at investing in Westex and other airlines. One look at Westex's books sent them back to Saskabush real quick. Apparently no affiliation with any known air carrier, yet!!!
