AME type "S" college programs

Im looking for some feedback from anyone that has been through a Aircraft Structural Repair Tech. program. Recently Ive been put in the position to chose between Sault College and Canadore College. From what ive heard Canadore has a better reptutation and a newer facility. But Sault looks to have better courses, including a NDT class that canadore does not offer. im looking for some opinions from anyone already in the trade... anyfeed back will be greatly appriciated!

I think canadore is the best school for hands-on skills in the S course. I took it the year after I graduated from my M course, and I loved it, we spent most of the time in the shop, and composites class was also amazing. The teachers were great and they helped me land a job after I graduated. I owe it to them! The hands-on experience they taught me, and the little things that they taught us that "most schools" wouldn't was amazing, right now I am a AME M2 but I need about 1 month to get my S. They taught me enough to get where I am today and

Look at the BCIT course in Kelowna, Fligtcraft is so short on "S" guys they are advertising on behalf of BCIT to get people to take the course. Word is that the next two classes will all be offered jobs at KF.

Be careful Skydrolboy, we've been down this road before. Push people to take the course and then the bottom falls out of the industry and the guys that signed up for the course are out of luck. Although KF is short of structures right now there is no guarantee that there will still be work in a year. 2 courses will be 2 years from now, there are no jobs promised to anyone taking the course, although things are looking good right now. BCIT in Kelowna is as good as any I guess, most of the learning is done when you get your first job anyway. Not trying to sound like the Grinch just want you to know the situation.

I'm not pushing anyone to take the course. Yes, of course the industry could take shit by the time the course is done. All I'm saying is that if he wants to take the course, you might aswell take it somewhere were theirs a company waiting at the doorstep to hire you.

ya well im in ontario and plan on staying here for my education. and also im trying to get into the airforce and go through there subsidised program... but thanks for the input everybody i really appriciated
