I've been looking at some of the stuff the democrats want to do regarding this new stimulus package and its amazing what they are including. They've been awfully secretive about exactly what is being funded and by how much so there are only a few things that have surfaced so far.
'"Stimulus" Bill Still Includes $335 Million Handout for Condoms, Sex-Ed Programs'

"$198M For Filipino WW II Veterans In U.S. Stimulus Package"

"$20 billion to increase the food stamp benefit by over 13% in order to help defray rising food costs."

I'm not sure how they can justify putting aside 20 billion toward rising food costs when their trillion dollar spending packages are the root cause of the rise.
Along with these ridiculous experiments included in the bill, the administration is sending more troops overseas:

This package is supposed to be to cause an "economic recovery" but they are sneaking in all types of crap. Did I forget to mention that they are bailing many of the same banks out as they did in 2008? Economists such as Ron Paul were 100% when predicting this cycle. The record of history is absolutely crystal clear that government intervention never works and ends up causing more problems than it fixes. You can't spend your way to prosperity, as Barack Obama will soon realize.
Change you can believe in? More like a third Bush term. Who really won, Mccain or Obama?
What the hell is going on with this stimulus package?

What the hell is going on with this stimulus package?
It's a repost.
Re: What the hell is going on with this stimulus package?
The stimulus package is very typical of democrats, they want to create a population ever more dependant on the government and thier programs, it has got to the point where westerners are no longer self reliant. We see Obama and his fan club trying to model America after Europe-not a problem if you don't mind skyrocketing crime, high unemployment, and enough Islamofacists to make even the most deluded liberal to ask what happened.

Dems raise taxes, Republicans put it on the visa card.....
No doubt you're more aligned with the values of the Libertarian party....

and maybe just haven't realized it yet-being ensnared in the faux debate between red/blue sock puppet
Islamofacists are very good for the economy-the exaggerated fear of them is of far larger economic benefit than all and any "bailouts"..., and enough Islamofacists to make even the most deluded liberal to ask what happened.

Re: What the hell is going on with this stimulus package?
It's all about the ice cream.
Ice Cream & The Election
Excellent analogy!
From a teacher in the Nashville area.
Who worries about "the cow" when it is all about the "Ice Cream?
The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year.
The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.
I decided we would have an election for a class president.
We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.
We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have.
We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in their selections.
Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother.
The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first.
He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best.
Everyone applauded. He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise.
She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream." She sat down.
The class went wild. "Yes! Yes! We want ice cream." She surely could say more. She did not have to.
A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure.
Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it? She didn't know.
The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream.
Jamie was forgotten.
Olivia won by a landslide.
Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and fifty-two percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want ice cream.
The other forty-eight percent of us know we're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.

I'm not clear why Obama's spending is viewed as bad as Bush's. Obama has even started. From my view in the bleachers, Bush and his team spent money like drunken sailors. I remember a time when fiscal responsibility was a key pillar of of conservatism. The past eight years was completely and blatantly off track. Why the shock and awe now? Were you all too busy looking for Osama under your beds to notice?
Oh yeah. Remember Osama bin Laden. Eight years we've been hearing about him and the atrocities. But, I guess gay marriage was more important.

You do a disservice to drunken sailors. At least they spend their own money, not their great grandchildrens.Bush and his team spent money like drunken sailors.

True enough, but that's the point of the OP.bmc wrote:I'm not clear why Obama's spending is viewed as bad as Bush's. Obama has even started. As American's continue to roll dollars off the press like newspapers, the US dollar moves ever closer to it's date with destiny as a substitute for toilette paper. When Americans are using wheelbarrows to haul dollars to the supermarket to buy 1 loaf of bread, they most certainly are not purchasing Canadian products. It's bad enough already, you won't see it in the news but per capita our economy is worse off than theirs. I still don't understand why the duct tape, good will & perhaps a little bit of Luke Skywalker force powers holding the US dollar aloft continue to be successful, but it's only a matter of time...
Obama was hired to fix Bush problems, not make them worse. $335 million dollars for condoms? He's talking about universal health care when they should be talking about economic survival.
Theirs a fair bit of alarmist sarcasm, but is this not correct.......?
