Seneca orientation / test
Who all on the board has applied to Seneca and is going to the orientation and test on March 7th? Hope to see you there.

Re: Seneca orientation / test
I have. I find it a little stupid though that they already had an orientation and I went to it and now I have to go again. And I don't think that everyone should have to drive an hour just so that they can make sure you can put a sentence together and divide 40 by 20. But hey, I want to go to Seneca and if you've got no choice, you do what you're told.
Re: Seneca orientation / test
When was it that you went to it before? Did you have to do the tests then?
Re: Seneca orientation / test
I'll be there come March 7th. Does anyone know if the tests are difficult? I've done the practise tests but is there anything else I should be looking over?
No kidding about the hour drive..I'm coming from Barrie.

Re: Seneca orientation / test
you guys are kidding, right?
it is too much trouble for you to drive an hour to write an entrance exam to an aviation college
i can't wait until your first day up on the ladder overwing fueling at -30C then setting up 18 seats then the bulkhead then loading the bags an the pax then actually flying the plane

Re: Seneca orientation / test
I wasn't really complaining...I'm kind of excited for it actually. Where else did you guys apply? I applied to Confed and Sault and then to aerospace engineering at a few universities.
Re: Seneca orientation / test
I wasn't complaining either. I make that drive all the time...and enjoy it to be honest.
I'm also looking forward to the orientation day and the actual program, assuming I make it. I haven't applied to other aviation colleges because I'm not really going to be in a position to move as far as some of them are from me. If this doesn't work out, I might have to settle for full-time schooling and flight training on the side, which I really would rather not do.

Re: Seneca orientation / test

i wasted money mailing resumes out. i went on a short road trip and was offered a few jobs but i got a better offer over the phone. i moved from southwestern ontario to northwestern ontario for my first job.
Re: Seneca orientation / test
So did you go to Seneca then or another college? Or just a standard FTU?

Re: Seneca orientation / test
I applied to Sault and Seneca as well as Western and Waterloo.
Still debating between Western and Sault, not really that interested in Seneca.

Re: Seneca orientation / test
Anyone else planning to go from the Ottawa area?
Re: Seneca orientation / test
Are you willing to throw bags and scrub toilets for 1-2 years to prove you are a good enough pilot to fly a plane?Omzmoh wrote:Does anyone know if the tests are difficult? I've done the practise tests but is there anything else I should be looking over?
Are you willing to work 7 days a week 18 hour days for 12,000/yr?
Do you love flying enough to fly as long as the boss says you should go?
If you can answer yes to any of the above questions, STAY HOME
We already have enough of those pilots, we don't need anymore

I really hope I'm not reduced to that.Lurch wrote:Are you willing to throw bags and scrub toilets for 1-2 years to prove you are a good enough pilot to fly a plane?Omzmoh wrote:Does anyone know if the tests are difficult? The actual orientation runs from 8:30am to 11am, then there's a break, then testing is from noon to 2pm.
Do you plan on being there?
