Finally, a socialist program I actually want running.

New Brunswick is rolling out its government-brand suds across the province on Thursday in a strategy to keep people from heading across the border in pursuit of discount beer.

The new brand is designed to staunch the bleeding of beer sales in border communities, but it is infuriating local brewers and at least one Quebec business owner
Only took me one trip to the Beer Store to remember why I like Thompson, MB better than anywhere in Ontario.

I say just drop the sin tax and have booze at the same price as pop.

Then I could put my money back into the economy and create jobs.

Dash-Ate, that chart kinda proves my belief that if it wasn't for the media presenting such a 'doom and gloom' outlook about the economy that people would realize things are not as bad as they seem. Back in '83 the unemployment rate was almost double what it is now and I remember '83 being a great year.

Having a standard that pilots lose their licence after making a mistake despite doing no harm to aircraft or passengers means soon you needn't worry about a pilot surplus or pilots offering to fly for free. Where do you get your experience from?

People's memories are either short or selective. Back in 1980 - 81 during the dying days of the St. Pierre de Mont Royal administration, some economists were allowing that 10% unemployment should probably be considered full employment. Course, those were the same people whose argument for deficit spending was to simply pay off the interest on the deficit. Inflation would take care of the principal, and besides we only owed the borrowed money to ourselves anyway. :D
