No blood tests.

Yes on the urine test, but not for drugs, to check for diabetes

ECG- They will put some sticky wires on your chest to make sure your heart works right.

You will need an audigram to. Just a quick hearing test.

And your doctor will ask you a bunch of questions on family medical history, alcohol consumption, and if y ou smoke or not.

Don't worry about it man. I think you said you are 18 in one of your other posts, you'll fly through it.

The most painful part is paying for it :)

Yeah no worries there homeslice. If it turns out that you are colour blind then ask to take the Farnsworth D15 test or the lantern test.

You'll be in like a dirty shoe.

well i went to the exam today, turns out I have 20/20 vision. :D ..this was the first time i've gotten my eyes tested. my blood pressure was really good.

went to a different doctor for my ecg exam passed that with flying colours.

the only thing i gotta do is the audiologist..get my hearing tested which im not worried about one bit.

i guess this doctor only did the paper work, eye test, and blood pressure, along with all my information, but he sent me to a different doctor for my ECG, and my hearing test. never once was asked for my urine tho! :D i just have to make sure the other docters send him the results.

he tried to only test me for a cat 3 ( found this docter very un-professional, he was rude and wore a sweater and blue jeans.but for 120 bucks i wasnt complaiin)cuz thats all you need for a ppl and to fly solo..but i had to tell him i would eventually need a cat 1 and may aswell make sure i can get it now rather than later.

It must have been germany LOL

On a more serious note, how about airline exams? I keep on hearing mixed stories about that exam.

On some notes regular guys fail it, but then I see morbidly obese pilot's flying for the major 705's of this nation.

How does this work out? What are the airlines looking for?

If you're looking to go commercial, don't wait to get at CAT1. You could be setting yourself up for a big disappointment if you can pass a CAT3 but not a CAT1.

i told the doctor that I wanted cat 1 but when we went to pay for the exam afterwards it was only $100 and we said, "I thought it was $130" and he said, "o i only did a cat 3 you don't need a cat 1." He said that I would pass a cat1 no problem though and since he's regional head i guess I could trust him. its just the ecg that you really don't know about until you do it
