Re: Hybrid Airplanes
Had a interesting experience the other day. Was in my 206 with a wing mounted HD camera on a filming mission and for some reason the picture was picking up vibration. The only way I could get the vibration to stop was to run the prop at 2400 and MP at 15", which is around what I use for a normal approach to land. So this meant we had to start high and gradually loose altitude for most of the shots.
I was on the windward side of the mountains on one particular occasion, with upper winds about 35 knots or so in a mountain wave. Well, I managed to run 15 inches for about half an hour without having to power back up again. At certain points we were gaining over 1000FPM.
Wind power baby!
