That video link that squawk posted elsewhere got me in a wistful mood.

While the weather has been cool in the OV these last few days, I've been getting yard work done. In my back pocket I kept the option of dropping my single day 9 hr pairing tomorrow into Open Time on FLiCA.

Around 2:00 pm I made the call to ditch the pairing. It was gone inside of an hour. Now I got the whole weekend free save for the YLW-LAS-YLW 10pm departure on Sunday night (which I picked up 2 days ago off of FLiCA).

I get to go to my 5 yr old son's school swimming outing at 9:30 am tomorrow morning and attend the Opening Ceremonies of his first ever Baseball League on Saturday morning.

Not sure I care what I make for a salary.

You guys at WestJet are like a bunch of spoilt brats. You don't realize how good you have it. I have read your agreement and I would gladly sign on the dotted line. Sometimes you should step outside of your company and look around at all the carnage this recession has inflicted on everyone.

Good on you guys for making WestJet a profitable company, you deserve your profit sharing cheques, and I don't doubt that you made a wack of coin this last Q, but maybe you should take one of your days off and go and help out at the local food bank, there you will see how fortunate you are.
