I've always liked the looks of the Boeing 727. Never got to fly one, doubt I ever will at this point.
Been a buff for old jets, like 707's and DC-8's. The Boeing 757's takeoff climb performance gives me goose bumps on my arms.
If I were to be rich, I would love to have my own PC-12, King Air 90 or a Cessna Citation.

That's a very original choice. The 880/990, as we know is the fastest sub-sonic airliner ever made. Beautiful aircraft, I have a colleague that has some time in one, says its a wonderful bird.planett wrote:Convair 990 Coronado:

Hey Slug, I thought the Jetstream was a good a/c. As a friend has said, like flying a homesick crowbar, we also had 1900D's so there was always a kind of rivalry. One think about the Jetstream, we always seemed to have something go wrong when we climbed above FL200. When we could get that high anyway.
Cheers.

Hey MS737,
Nothing really wrong with the Jetstream, but wouldn't you love to have the performance of the 1900D? I've probably been above FL 200 four times in my time on the BA31. Great aircraft to learn to flight planning and hands-on flying, but more power would be nice.

Hey Slug, I agree. A friend tells me the 32's are alot better, probably what the 31 should have been all along. I am gonna miss loading Rubbermaid containers in the pod as well as the northern samsonite baggage. It was fun. I think the 31's need a mod in the next few years anyway, I know we had a grandfather clause regarding balanced field limitations, something about the 4th stage in the climb gradient, it's been awhile. The Tiller steering was nice though. Made you feel like you were in a Twin Otter.
Gruman TBM Avenger.
Fell in love with it watching the spray teams take off from Sevogle airstrip. The low level, fly bys over our heads in camp during the last light of a Spring day were every bit as awesome too.....I'll never forget that job; I'm not a pilot but that didn't stop me from realizing that I was watching some of the coolest planes and pilots right in their glory.

As a working airplane that brings home the bacon, the old Grief One Gulfstream G159. As a fun airplane, the Mooney M18 Mite, as long as the termites are still holding hands in the wooden wings. Only airplane you could hand spike from the cockpit. ( 65 HP Cornpopper, no electrics)
The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.
