O200 OVERHAUL

Post by zap »

I'm thinking about getting a major overhaul done on my C150 engine. I was wondering if any of you have suggestions as to a reputable overhaul shop in Manitoba or Ontario. I know Aero Recip, Universal, and Leavens do overhauls but it seems really difficult to find information regarding their quality of work and customer satisfaction. These shops really seem to keep a low profile when it comes to advertising their product/expertise to the private aircraft owners. Thanks.

200's are simple and well known engine, most shops that overhaul anything would have seen hundreds of these.

I know Leavens seems to do a lot of work for most flying schools in Ontario and have not heard anything negative, I've sent TIO-540's to them in the past and all came back good with no problems.

Universal does good work and their prices are about average. Sometimes you have to ride their ass to get stuff done but a good shop and people overall.
