Job ads without a company name.

Post by Forest Gump »

What are the thoughts on companies that post job ads without revealing the name of the company?
I think it's pretty ballsy to ask for resumes containing a lot of info on someone without giving any info back.

Just my opinion,

Forrest

Couldn't agree more.
Just goes to show the arrogance of some of these operators.

In the case of "Withheld NWO" for the C208 and DHC-2
No Company info. No Salary info. No Way to check References on them.

I hope they get zero response from qualified Float Drivers.

I'm not a float pilot, but isn't 8000 TT for a Caravan job a little excessive?

as long as the pay is suitable, if they are looking for a more experienced driver, then so be it. but i agree, it sounds a little on the high side.

In most other industries employers generally have something to be proud about. When you look through the ads and see RBC, well you might think, wow they're a great company to work for!

No major airline would dare pull that garbage either.

yeah and most of all, you see in those ads e-mail addresses ending by @hotmail.com and @yahoo.ca ... yeah right ... how can you afford to pay a salary to a pilot if you're not even able to pay to have a real e-mail address... what kind of company is that???

Does it matter?

His chiefpilotdipshit@yahoo.com email box got flooded with candiates in both the unqualified and qualified categories. Some saying they've got their bags packed and have already sent a cheque off to flightsafety, I am sure.

And why do I loathe pilots? Hmmmmm, why am I so bitter, when one bad apple doesn't spoil the whole bunch? Well you'd soon tire of apples if everytime you encountered one it gave you explosive diarrhea and a raw corn-chute for weeks on end. Yea, I know some great apples...but the bitter taste of the rest linger for far too long.

Why am I so obsessed with fruit? Because I am gay.

C.S.

No shortage of pilots, but I wish I knew more aviators.

When you get 50 calls on your cellphone from 200 hr pilots (who ignore the time requirements) while your trying to do sports shows. Or when you come home from a week or two of shows, only to find a whole roll of fax paper on the floor with 4 page generic resumes from 200 guys. You start to get a pretty good idea why some don't post contact names or numbers.

Could also be company X is looking to get rid of person Y, but posting the company name wouldn't be a good thing in case person Y is looking...seen this one done before.

I think everyone should send an application, but at the top put "Name withheld".

I don't agree with this practice but I can't help finding funny to read all those complaints by people who are not using their real name (on the forum).

Yeah, but they aren't applying for a job on the forum. Not posting a company name with a job ad, is like a company not naming themselves in an advertisement. Like "Try our condoms, they are better than the others." Okay, who's condoms?

Most points that I would have made have been posted except one.

If you don't like it, there is one solution for you......pass it by! Nobody is forcing you to apply, complaining is not going to change it so get over it guys.

Only my 2 cents

Actually, complaining about it can change it. Believe me, it gets noticed.
