living in the greater montreal area and want to stay there ?
you're not going to find a job in downtown montreal unless you're a striper
look everywhere not only there, the best opportunities for a job with a turbo-prop operator are not in Montreal unless you want to work in the manufacturing industry (OEMs)
Willing to work at minimum salary ?
are you F#@&*ing nut ?
Don't screw yourself

I can understand that you want to get your task's signed off, but like Vick says, why be willing to do it for minimum salary? Show some pride and stand up for yourself!
I mean, where does it go from there? You start accepting minimum wages, then someone else, etc. Do you comprehend where this is going?

hey Afzal, I don't mean to be rude to you but if you go out there and tell an employer that after 20 years in the industry you are willing to work for minimum wage, the message you'll be sending is simply that you're not worth a tech's salary and need further training ! I wouldn't hire somebody who tells me that !
Just getting a damn licence won't make you a better tech. Let's say you find somebody to give you that min-wage job and you finally get your AME certification, do you really think that same employer will just double your salary the next moorning ?
Wake-up buddy, this is Canada ! the Aviation industry here is already F@#&*cked enough, thanks to some idiots who still consider airplanes as toys and will do anything to put their hands on them.
Even plumbers make more money than we do when we start !

hi
Dear Afzal
I am deeply sorry about your situation but don’t give up. I was in the same situation when came in Canada. The experience you need could be from maintenance organizations outside Canada. So, if you don’t mind just go somewhere and do your missing tasks.
I am absolutely agree with the other guys that the best way to put yourself in the mud is to accept minimum wage. This is lack of self-respect and soon or late will reflect over your career. Canada is very strange country and you have to play the game according the local rules. Otherwise……
Don’t think that possessing M2 license will give you chance to work in the aviation. I have M2 but was forced to move to work back in Europe because here I am welcome and somebody.
Don’t waste your time. Better go in the automotive business. There are more money and job opportunities than the aviation.
Good Luck.

What is your background equipmentwise there are operators in northern Quebec that still have some HS 748's flying I think for entry level you will be hard pressed to land something in Montreal. If you can get in with somebody that does rotations in the north that might be your best bet

Afzal ! to be honest with you, you will have avery hard time geeting a job in Montreal, and the reasons are simple :
1- A lot of people will tell you that Montreal is the center of the Aerospace industry in Canada, That's not untrue. however, all these companies are OEMs and not Air operators. At pierre trudeau inter airport, there's only one company I can think about and that will hire apprentices, its name is Excel-tech. They do a lot of turbo-prop work (ATR42/72 $ Dash
, they also do the maintenance on Jets-Go airplanes. They tend to hire a lot of people but you could be laid-off soon after the workload gets lighter. So you see it's not that stable. Still, if you don't speak French you'll have a hard time getting in.
The other big employer in Montreal within the airline industry is of course Air Canada. But As you probably know, AC recentely emerged from Bankrupcy protection and I don't think they'll be hiring anytime soon.
There are other small companies at the International airport, I know a lot of these which are mainly family business and again you'll need good references for that.........and knowing French is a must !!!!
I think you should look everywhere and seriousll consider Ontario.
