Best way to spend an evening....?

Post by Doc »

My idea of a perfect evening, is to spend the whole night on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter, with 500$ in my jeans, and nothing on tap for tomorrow!

Bourban street... The only place you can smell, food, shit, piss, and sex all in one sniff. I did quite enjoy New Orleans. I haven't been post Kutrina - but the summer storms there are amazing.

Well the perfect night follows a perfect day. I ride my harley to the airport and take someone special for a local flight. Then over to the blues jam where I knock them dead with my talent and showmanship. Some lunch and a beer. A cruise on the motorcycle around vic's inner harbour and then home.
The perfect night maybe some friends over for a BBQ, drinks on the paty-o, a cuban cigar, some laughts, conversation, the company departs and I make a suggestion to the wife. But she is way ahead of me and already has the candles burning already. The End.

Head to the Frob, have a few beers and buy yourself some carvings... or the Legion, whatever. That is, if they're open on Sundays... can't remember. :smt017

First- the 2:00 afternoon fun flight.

Then, at around 5:00- sex with a good looking chick that thinks the world of me, then a big fat steak on the grill with a nice salad and a bottle of cheap wine.

7:30- A stroll down by the waterfront with a beer break on a park bench.

9:00- Make it back home to chill out on the couch and play kissy face while watching TOP GUN.

11:00- bed time

We can always dream, eh?

Personally New Orleans isn't my thing at all. The smell of piss and vomit overpowers pretty much anything else. But if you have to experience it, stay right on Bourban street. I was there about a year after Katrina (flew in to dive the USS Oriskany aircraft carrier in Pensacola) and stayed in the Ramada Inn which in that city is pretty dang nice. Course Motel 6 works for me most of the time. The really great music is mostly out in the little clubs in the 9th ward. Check out a recent WSJ online for a neat review of the music scene. Anyway lots of good enough music up and down Bourbon street and plenty to gawk at. If you get down to the end where pink and black balloons are hanging on all the street lamps, and the men all look really buff....you may want to turn around. Me, I'd skip New Orleans and take in the Bruskers street fest in Kingston Ontario. NOW that was a good time.

Take my Granddaughters, one at a time, to an all night Tim Horton s and let them do the talking over a coffee and a doughnut. Usually at midnight on a Friday night.

Anything that excludes, airplanes, airports, flying, people that fly, people that talk about flying, travel of any sort, hotels and restaurants.

Nothing beats family time in the back yard.

That actually sounds pretty damn good. Question is, who else is coming?

Courage is the price that life exacts for granting peace. The soul that knows it not, knows no release from the little things; knows not the livid loneliness of fear, nor mountain heights where bitter joy can hear the sound of wings.

I think stunned might be referring to this-

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p ... =pig+roast

In which case, flybabe, you are very liberal, or very literal.

Just thought I'd make some people "hip" to the lingo.

Personally, I'd never participate in an Urban Dictionary "pig roast". I have no need to see another man naked- for any reason.
