Whatever. They will be lucky to have averaged about 25-30 hours per aircraft per MONTH since they started flying. And for those doing the math, that's north of $10000 USD per hour without anything else - fuel, crew, insurance, hangar, overhead. Zilch. Which part of massive bleeding don't you get?

I didn't sense any hate for Enerjet, he just sounds like a realist.

I have it from a trusted source that they are currently interviewing and hiring FO's for a late June start date.

Doesn't mean a thing unless there are asses in the seats and the planes are flying.

EnerJet was a good idea, probably a good business plan, just at the wrong time. There just isn't any demand for lift.

The rumor was/is true. Unfortunately for Enerjet, Transat cancelled all of the flying until they resume ops to Mexico the 3rd week of June. Apparently there has been some "discussion" over whether or not Transat should pay cancellation fees.

I will not be suprsied if Enerjet does Winter flying foir Transat.

Umm currently they are doing work for Transat... it's not like Suncor gave them a bunch of flying to do....

Only Mexico was cancelled. And that is soon to start up again.

I don't think Enerjet was doing any flying for Transat other than Mexico.

They are, and will continue to do charter work for Suncor. I have heard them going into FG6 more and more over the past few weeks. With the Petro acquistion almost complete, I'm willing to bet Suncor will bring major projects back on-line and the flying frenzy will resume, once again.

-My 2 cents.

They have alot more going on other than Mexico for Transat. Why do you think they have been flying so much lately? Its not due to Suncor. Many people see the planes on the ramp during the day but they are gone during the night.

Despite low utilization right now expect to see the jets up in the air a lot more for fall and winter charters. Montego Bay and Punta Cana are starting up this week. Lots of work for both Suncor and Air Transat in the future.

Let’s all try to remain positive – at the end of the day every airline is struggling during these turbulent times. None of them are immune, although some are significantly able to handle it much better. Was it the best time for enerjet to launch? Perhaps – did they or anyone expect the almost crash of the American banking system, the housing crisis or the collapse of oil and natural gas? Few did.

I don't think anyone wants Enerjet to fail, but I do think there is a sense of frustration out there with startups that haven't done there homework and start with poor business plans and no sense of the overall economic reality. It desstabilizes the industry, makes it harder and more expensive for other operators to raise funds and operating capital. It also lures employees away from otherwise promising jobs.

I think as well that Enerjet in most peoples eyes was an airline that wasn't needed. Just my opinion of course.

I am certainly open to being corrected but I thought that Canjet was doing all of Transat's eastern flying and that the only western non widebody flying was to Mexico, which as we know was all cancelled until the 3rd week of June.

We did a Punta Cana trip out of YQM this spring as that was the best departure point and it was booked through Air Transat hoildays but the trip down was with West Jet via direct.

I heard that both planes are paid for... if that's the truth, it adds a whole other dimension to this thread.
