RJ Question
Heard that the window seating problem - seat too high, window too low has been fixed. Is that true?
Is this in later versions of the RJ or overall?

Two reasons. By the time they had made all the improvements with the 700 series (and the 900), the demand for the 50 seater was already starting to fall off, and thus they likely wouldn't build enough to pay for the recertification costs. The other reason is that if they start messing about with the type like that, the only sensible thing to do would be to add the other 700 type mods to it, like the slats, FADEC, upgraded computers, etc. and that would mean that existing airlines like COMAIR wouldn't be much interested in further mixing the fleet even if it is a common type rating--yes they asked the customers on that one. Comair fought the standard inclusion of a GPS receiver on their 200's to the last minute when it became standard equipment as part of the EGPWS system because it might in some way mess with their pilot's minds or even worse, jack the price of a 20 million dollar aircraft by $5000.
