Starting an aviation bussiness in Vancouver
Do you have names of any company that could help with the correct steps in doing this in Vancouver?
Re: Starting an aviation bussiness in Vancouver
The steps are easy:
Step 1. Don't
Step 2. Get the idea out of your head, and run far far away.
Those who have any hope of starting & running a successful aviation business and who have the experience level and knowledge to do so, know the steps and/or know the people who can help them with any area they are not expert at.
Those who need to ask this question, shouldn't even be considering such a business. It's sort of along the lines of the old, "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it" idiom.
Just my 2 cents.
But if you insist on proceeding beyond asking this question, Good luck (you'll need it).

Maybe we need to ask the question "what sort of business within aviation"? If its receivership or insolvency he may make a very good living.

Is this really the message that we want to send to people trying to make it in this industry? Sure it's a tough industry and you have to have a good set up to succeed, but without people trying to start up a company and make a living, there would be no jobs for us pilots.
Personally I think that if the idea is good and well managed then any company can succeed.
Having earned a degree on the subject of Airline Management, and studying the ups and downs, I can see where either new companies can work or new ideals can be introduced.
I don't know of any companies that can help you but I have studied the subject and may be of help.

Here's an old thread on the same topic: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=39595
Some info there that may help, but the tone of the answers - whether it's a good idea or not - is the same.

That's a perfectly valid point. What sort of business?shamrock104 wrote:Maybe we need to ask the question "what sort of business within aviation"?
If it's flying (or maintenance, or manufacturing), all of the requirements are easy enough to find out through Transport Canada and the Canadian Transportation Agency. Provided you don't piss anyone off, the procedures are theoretically straight forward enough and all of the forms are available. There are even 'generic' manuals for you to download and edit to suit your needs.
However, in reality the process is never as straight forward as it is on paper (sorry to those who have 'studied' the subject).
I still stand by my point that if you don't already know how to do it, who can help or where to find out the youfo on your own; then just give up now.
.... or hire yourself someone who has graduated with a degree in airline management and who 'knows' how on paper and the two of you can learn the realities of it together
