It's a shame niss's wonderful post disapeared.
Curious why the thread was removed.

If this thread becomes as "distasteful" as the last one, it'll end up "gone" as well.YHZChick wrote:

Problem with that?

I asked a question. you answered. I'm not sure why you'd think I'd have a "problem with that".Doc wrote:If this thread becomes as "distasteful" as the last one, it'll end up "gone" as well.YHZChick wrote:

Re: Jacko is dead.
This is from the CBS interview in 03....
ED BRADLEY: That British documentary last February — which you didn't like —
MICHAEL JACKSON: Yeah, I didn't like it.
ED BRADLEY: You — you said in that documentary that— that many children have slept in your bedroom.
MICHAEL JACKSON: Yeah.
ED BRADLEY: You said, and — and I'm gonna quote here, "Why can't you share your bed? A most loving thing to do is to share your bed with— with someone."
MICHAEL JACKSON: Yes.
ED BRADLEY: As — as we sit here today, do you still think that it's acceptable to share your bed with children?
MICHAEL JACKSON: Of course. Of course. Why not? If you're gonna be a pedophile, if you're gonna be Jack the Ripper, if you're gonna be a murderer, it's not a good idea. That I'm not. That's how we were raised. And I met — I didn't sleep in the bed with the child. Even if I did, it's okay. I slept on the floor. I give the bed to the child.
ED BRADLEY: But given all that you've been through —
MICHAEL JACKSON: Yeah?
ED BRADLEY: Given the allegations, given the innuendo — why would you put yourself in a position where something like this could happen again?
MICHAEL JACKSON: Well, I'm always more cautious. But I will never stop helping and loving people the way Jesus said to. He said, "Continue to love. Always love. Remember children. Imitate the children." Not childish, but childlike.
I honestly can't understand why you condone this shit there Doc? Why are you protecting this fucking pedophile?

I don't condone anything. Why not just start a thread on pedophilia? I'm not even a fan of his music, although I do recognize the guy's incredible talent. It's just not my bag, baby.balfour wrote:

It doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose to drag all the unsubstantiated rumors through the mud. The guy died. It's huge news. People with a lot more knowledge than either of us, seem to stand behind him. Lets just agree to disagree, shall we?

I think the other thread should be restored.

I too am not a big MJ fan, but he WAS acquitted when tried the second time, and the plaintiff in the first case admitted only lodging the case for $$$, with the father admitting also on tape that he had initiated the complaint for the $.Doc wrote:unsubstantiated rumorsbalfour wrote:

Was he a weird f'n guy? For sure! But contributed an enormous amount to several decades of music history.

Re: Jacko is dead.
So i guess what's being said here is, as long as you're famous and talented, you can do whatever you want? The sensationalism of this guy by the media is ridiculous. All of sudden i'm to believe he was such a great person for transcending racial barries, that we're not going to mention the "faux pas" of his past? Give me a break. This guy was a creepy kid toucher, and if weren't for fame or money, he'd be in jail with the rest of them.
Re: Jacko is dead.
There's also the chance that if he weren't eccentric, rich and famous, he never would have been accused of it in the first place.Howitzer wrote:So i guess what's being said here is, as long as you're famous and talented, you can do whatever you want? no sig because apparently quoting people in context is offensive to them.

Re: Jacko is dead.
Unless I missed something, there was nothing in the original thread that required it to be removed. There's at least one post (not mine.....yet) in THIS thread that has been removed, for reasons that escape me.
The moderator doing all the moderating should (or does?) work for CATSA...sure they can take your tweezers, not because it makes any sense...but just because they can.

Oh, so AF 447 is ok. Colgan is ok. But don't bring unsubstantiated rumours about Mj into the forum?Doc wrote:I don't condone anything. Why not just start a thread on pedophilia? Gotcha.
I get it now...

Just ask your self this. "Where would you be if it wasn't for Michael Jackson?"
Then you'll realize how important he was in your life.

Re: Jacko is dead.
Actually, he makes zero difference. yes, i had a crush on him when I was 8. But if the guys I had a crush on at 18 and 28 make no difference, why would he? I don't deny he had talent, but lots of people have talent (susan Boyle, apparently). But there is nothing he did that changed my life any more than say, the Nelson Brothers...Invertago wrote:Just ask your self this. "Where would you be if it wasn't for Michael Jackson?"

Wayne Dyer changed my life. Michael Jackson, not so much. No more than Amy Winehouse...
I can't live without your love and affection...

Re: Jacko is dead.
Yep... that would be my post. Doc likes to remove them whenever he can. It's okay to call people scum-of-the-earth, low-lifes, losers, the downfall of the industry and much, much worse but make a joke about a pedophile and you're crossing the line?? Gimme a break. Doc, you've moderated the hell out of this topic and then leave other topics alone that need some serious attention... why? I thought moderators weren't supposed to let personal opinions get in the way.The Other Kind wrote:Unless I missed something, there was nothing in the original thread that required it to be removed. The Colgan and Air France threads just roll on... or what about the Gun Registry thread where posters were slinging mud at one another for 10 pages. No moderating?? Hmmm... have we struck a soft spot here, Doc? Is there something we're all missing?
Michael Jackson was a pedophile... in 30 years of children going in and out of his bedroom, I find it very hard to believe he didn't touch a single one inappropriately. Making a joke about this man is not the end of the world... he's been joked about for three decades now. Just because he's dead, I see no reason to stop.
Twenty years from now you'll be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the things you did do.

...I got of ton of MJ jokes I wrote....however, I'm a mod on here and can't cross that line.
HOWEVER....come see me @ Yuk-Yuks, 224 Richmond St W Toronto. I'll drop a few MJ "original" jokes before going into my 20 minute bit on "Ovaltine"...
RIP Michael...

And to answer my own question where I'd be... probably reading a different form without "Smooth Criminal" stuck in my head lol. He's just a excentric talented eccentric singer, not like he made the world a better place. Some one will replace him, plenty of other new songs coming out daily that I can illegally download for my ipod. BTW, anyone notice how MJs death blocks all other news? Like what Obama had for lunch today or that North Korea is going to nuke the free world?

I have opinions, just like everyone else. I don't know the truth of MJ or OJ. If or when I have evidence, I argue my opinion using that evidence. Same goes for TC. What's hypocritical about that?
You took to disliking me because, IMHO, you misunderstood what I was saying in another thread. Since then, you've taken every opportunity you could find to try to discredit me. I'm tired of it.
