The nice thing is, the salary is based more on the equipment flown than the amount flown, I fly 4-5 days a month and make another 2 or so trips to the airplane for restocking, detailing, FMS updates etc, and get paid probably on the high side of CL30 FO pay. We have wonderful owners, trips are usually out and back, with occassional weekends away(in tropical locales...ok not always...) and once a year an international trip.Westward_Bound wrote:Just wondering, what you corporate guys flying 10 or less days a month make for that month?? If it's decent money, then I'd say that's an awesome gig!
All that being said, I would still trade that for a schedule, time off when I need it, and the travel benefits. Only problem is the mortgage still needs to be paid and I wouldn't be able to live on airline pay until about year 6...guess one has to take the good with the bad.
Getting into a job like this is just a matter of taking every opportunity(steam gauges, props, cargo, instruction...), networking with those you work with(never know when a student or fellow instructor/fellow freight dog lands that G550 job), and making the best of every day flying.
