Didn't Alaska Airlines have an inflight "fish strike" back in the 80s? Did some windshield damage I think.

There are reports of a navajo driver hitting a jack fish in northern sask a few years ago. Guess that's why you should pull up when the fish are jumping.

Osprey drop fish around here all the time. Usually they come back to pick them up though.

As far as I know the only fish in the Bow are trout, I can't imagine where a perch came from.

How do you confuse a fish for a dead bird?

Meh.

A friend of mine, who was instructing on T-33's years ago, was
on a trip to the west coast, where they purchased a shark. Yes,
it was dead

They transported said dead shark back to their base, and carefully
left the shark by the side of a river near a bridge where it was sure
to be spotted, which resulted in the Great Manitoba Shark Scare.

big birds eat fish and often carry them with them in the air..I guess he dropped his dinner...or she ofcourse.

Not sure where he got it near YYC but then again I know nothing about YYC.

Frigate birds down here (Caribbean) have like a four foot wing span and catch pretty big fish! They often fly miles offshore for most of the day to seek out schooling fish...coming back in the evening.... On one of our stops we were taking gas... and while we were all just waiting around a loud bang came from the other side of the a/c...it was about a 2 pound mangrove snapper that hit our wing....still alive:0! and one pissed frigate bird overhead...so I tossed it way out in the ramp area and he came down and got it:)

Doesn't overly surprise me. A few years ago I drove my truck over a Walleye. First time I've ever had 'Road Kill Fish'
