Ethics is also a problem for your company. For example; when Westjet was in talks with 5T about a code share agreement they got 5T to open their books and when they saw what the potential was they decided to run their own planes up to Yellowknife. I have heard Westjet did the same thing with Calm Air on the now defunct Winnipeg/Thompson run.Jastapilot wrote:Ah, so this is what it's like when your company is no longer the 'underdog'. Kind of funny, actually.

If you're an Air Canada employee you have nothing to preach about regarding 'ethics'.

Just in time for pension repayments... excellentAir Canada's initial $600 million drawdown is repayable beginning in August 2010 in quarterly installments of $30 million with a final $120 million payment due by the fifth anniversary of the initial drawdown.

Bwaahaahhaaaaaa. That's right, WJ set the standard when they STOLE load info from another company and the rest of us are following their ethical standards. Huh?Jastapilot wrote:If you're an Air Canada employee you have nothing to preach about regarding 'ethics'.

Re: Non biased facts.
What is different about Westjet going to Yellowknife than Jazz trying to take business from CDN and FA. Choice is a good thing and people might be tired of RJs breaking down because they are shit in cold and paying way too much for an hour and a half flight. I thought there was free enterprise in Canada. As far as ethics go, I dont think either AC or WJ are bad, they are not perfect but not bad. We are all the same, we want a secure airline job yet we get on here and behave like children. Its too bad bad management put AC in this position and as a WJetter, I dont want AC to go bankrupt. Competition and choice is what keeps the world moving. Without choice people forget what service really is.

Speaking of non-bias facts, care to back up that statement with one iota of proof?Spit-IX wrote:

I will be the first to admit some of my WJ colleagues can act a little arrogant, I find it ironic that you complain WJers are negative to all but themselves yet your twelve posts are nothing but negative to WJ? Hello pot!
It is plain to see you are not an AC employee. Instead, it looks like you are a 5T employee who is upset WJ set up shop in your own backyard. Would you happen to be FICU?
respectfully.

Re: Non biased facts.
I'm not a Westjet employee either. I have a lot of colleagues there, easily over 100. Great guys/girls.
And posters like Jastapilot really need to rein it in. They're giving their fellow employees a bad name. I would be willing to bet there is a correlation between the lack of experience in the industry and the comments coming out of certain teal cheerleaders. No one I know at WJ would be talking the kind of shit you see here sometimes.
Most guys at Westjet have been around long enough to know that it's little more complicated than "Westjet good, Air Canada bad". I'd like to see Westjet try and soak up AC's international capacity if (heaven forbid) AC ceased to exist. It would become instantly apparent just how small potatoes Westjet is.
So maybe just try and be happy that your colleagues at AC are still alive and kicking and quit acting like the schoolyard asshole crowing over a situation that none of the parties involved have any control over?
Thanks.

I've often wondered about that. Sometimes you jast get a sense you're dealing with someone who jast doesn't know any better. But I also think it might have something to do with being told you are the best and the rest suck.I would be willing to bet there is a correlation between the lack of experience in the industry and the comments coming out of certain teal cheerleaders. No... it might have something to do with letting that go to your head! Some of us just aren't made to see reality from a big perspective and thus start sounding like Gods gift to Mankind. WJA is a good company, with good culture, with a sometimes perhaps arrogant business attitude... but should not be mistaken for a stupid crowd by a few bad apples with big spaces between the ears!tonysoprano wrote:But I also think it might have something to do with being told you are the best and the rest suck.
We've all more or less made our choices in our career. That should'nt mean that we are any different as professionals. We are all in it for the same reason. Some are more fortunate these days than others. But then again... maybe not if you look at the big picture!?!?!
The only difference I see between the 2 companies would be the management. One trusted, one trying to earn the trust... It's all about hidden agendas. Or not...
Just my 2 cent downpayment...

Nutckracker.
I think you're right. Some people let the success get to their heads and it seems that when their only competition is going through turbulent times the immaturity becomes more evident. But you can't tell me that the young thoughts are not being influenced by the comments of older pilots and the tone that management uses at times. I think it starts from the top down. I used to think Clive was bad. This younger guy you have seems to be a little on the immature side as well. Success can easily get to inexperienced heads. I recall in its haydays when AC hired some very young pilots, the egos were a little hard to take. Now a days of course we see a more humble group. Be careful what you wish for and what's that other one, what goes around comes around?

Jastapilot, that is not being generous. That is being plain silly! Your behaviour and attitude astounds me. But then again... it makes me come back for more out of pure curiosity of what you're going to say next! The word "sandbox" comes to mind!Jastapilot wrote:Judging your humility, Tony, I'd guess your age around 28, and I'm being generous. But we know that's not true, is it?

if you are trapped in a glass house and have a stone by all means throw it!

I'll make it easy. Here's a search of every post I've ever made. Please find where I've taken cheap shots at Air Canada. What I have done is stood up for myself, and stood up against ignorant comments made by certain peanut galleries who think their shit don't stink.

Seeing that I'm communicating through a keyboard I can't "prove" it other than you having to believe what I type. I did hear it from the horse's mouth in regards to 5T and from a senior employee at Calm Air.double-j wrote: Speaking of non-bias facts, care to back up that statement with one iota of proof?
Yes, I am new here and was pointed to this forum. Where I work doesn't matter but I do have a vested interest in the north and myself, like many others, aren't too happy with the way WJ entered the northern market. I also know many people at Westjet, both very senior and junior FWIW.

I suggest you take a lesson from KAG on how to represent your company on a public aviation forum because you never know who's watching.
