The co-pilot requirement is 500TT, but does anyone know if they'll hire you AT 500TT or is that the absolute minimum (not really a guaranteed a job); for example Air Canada’s minimum is 1000TT but they usually hire people who has around 3000TT +!
My second question is that what is the minimum average hours a pilot get per month? They have daily scheduled flights from Peace River Airport to Edmonton- is that the entry level position or is the entry level position is as a co-pilot as an air ambulance (medivac) pilot?

You're never guaranteed a job just because you meet the minimum requirements. I'd say if you only have the minimums you'll need to have a really good internal reference to get a job these days.flygirl123 wrote:The co-pilot requirement is 500TT, but does anyone know if they'll hire you AT 500TT or is that the absolute minimum (not really a guaranteed a job); for example Air Canada’s minimum is 1000TT but they usually hire people who has around 3000TT +!

I don't work there but my understanding is that junior people do medevacs and senior people do the sched. If it's similar to where I work then you average 30 hours a month on medevacs.

Re: Northern Air Charter
I worked at Northern Air last year and with 500TT it may be difficult to get a job there with that time unless you keep hounding them, just like any other job when you're starting out.
As for hours, if you're straight medevac pilot you'll do between 30-40 hrs a month. But don't be surprise if you get less. Flying medevac, one one month you'll be flying non-stop and the next it will be dead. Just depends on the demand. If you're checked out on the BE10 or Navajo for the sked/charters you'll get closer to the 50-60 hrs a month. Being a low time pilot there its guaranteed that you'll be checked out on more than one plane, whether its the BE10, Navajo, or one of the singles.
Good Luck.
