Qatar Airways Hiring

Type-rated and non-type rated pilots.

We are looking for qualified Captains & First Officers and invite applications from candidates that meet criteria below:

We are looking for qualified Captains & First Officers and invite applications from candidates that meet criteria below:
Captains (A300-600 / A330 / A320 / B777)
* Total minimum hours 6000 with at least 2000 hours of command of which 1500 hours shall be jet command
* 500 hours on type
* Valid ICAO license
* ICAO English Proficiency Level has to be endorsed on the license

First Officers (A300-600 / A330 / A320 / B777)
* Total minimum hours 1000
* 500 hours on type
* Valid ICAO ATPL or frozen ICAO ATPL (FAA ATP written is not acceptable)
* ICAO English Proficiency Level has to be endorsed on the license


Pilots without a rating on the aircraft types we fly must have the following minimum experience:

1. For Captains, 6000 hours with at least 2000 hours command of which 1500 hours shall be jet command and 500 shall be on EFIS equipped jets.
2. For First Officers, 2000 hours of which 500 hours shall be on jets.

Don't forget.. i think they only hire MEN.
I guess a lot of companies should probably specify that.

I've never heard much good about Doha but to each his (or her) own

Doha sucks, and so does Qatar Airways' work environment. From the outside it looks like a 5-star airline but those who work there would testify that it really isn't.

There's a huge thread about them over at pprune, over 50 pages long, detailing the interview and work conditions (middle east forum). There does seem to be quite a lot of negative, but that also seems to go for almost every company on pprune, including cathay and emirates.

Personally, I think it would be cool to fly an Airbus or Boeing, but flying 90-100+ hrs/mo and living in Doha might get old fairly quickly. But some people don't seem to mind it. Just do your research before you apply or accept any offer.

Other comanies around the area that hire ex-pats include Gulf Air, Etihad and Fly Dubai. They all seem to want 500-1000 jet, with 1500-2000hrs total. Lots of info about them too on pprune too.

They can have me if the want me, but only for the Amiri stuff on the C-17.
