When to get IATRA?

Post by bartonfly88 »

When is a sensible time to start studying for the IATRA. Does it expire if you dont fly multi crew plane? How good does it look on a resume?

Thanks

if you know who you want to work for, check into if its required. some places its mandatory, some places like it if you have it even though you dont need, some places dont care.

one thing is for sure though, you cant do any HARM by having it

It's quite clear. You must complete the exam within 24 months preceding the type rating. If, after 24 months, you haven't successfully completed a type rating, the exam expires and you must re-write it.

If you think there's a chance you will have all the time requirements for the ATPL in the next 24 months, just write the A's. They authorize operation on a two-crew aircraft as well, and then you can just roll over and get your AA when you have all the hours.
