(bump)
Anyone else from YYZ waiting for a final interview?
If yes, when was your written assessment/phone interview?
It's getting a bit close for a Sep/Oct course...

When I went for my tours both centre and tower said they had OJ trainees. Don't know how recently they came through initial training.SkyWolfe wrote:Didn't YYZ just take some people on?

Re: Final Nav Canada Interview
Anyone who did the testing session in YYC get a second interview call? I had the first interview around 5 weeks ago. I know they were doing testing in Edm too in July or Aug.

Re: Final Nav Canada Interview
Man am I happy I am not going through that again. Of course my interview was in 1969 and the written tests were soon after. I got hired late 69 starting as a VFR tower controller and about 4 years later took the IFR training. In those days you started that way. FSS was a different thing entirely. I have since left the job. It was a great job and I hope you find it so. Of course I was hired by Transport Canada not NavCanada and our basic training (ASTS) was at the YOW airport, long before they put the palace in Cornwall!!
Re: Final Nav Canada Interview
Well, it's been a full month since the second interview, and my status is still yellow on the takecharge site, (it hasn't even been updated to indicated the interview's taken place, it's still "pending"). That and a voicemail message I left a week ago hasn't been returned. What do you think, have I slipped through the cracks or something? *sigh*
By what Skywolfe said the September YYZ session is already underway. I guess I just gotta hope to get into the October one...or the next time VFR training comes up, I guess.
I'm still keeping hope alive that my second interview goes green and I get placed

Re: Final Nav Canada Interview
Its okay, I had a Yellow dot for 6 weeks after my second interview.
Right now, everything is good and green, but the reference check has been pending FOREVER.

Thanks cossack!
The interview went pretty well (I think!). I'm both relieved that this part of the process is over with, and anxious about the next steps.
And now we play... the waiting game... *cue Jeopardy final question theme*

Don't worry, took six week for me to get my dot
Re: Final Nav Canada Interview
Anyone else think that Nav Canada loses a lot of good, potential canditates due to the fact they expect you to wait for who knows how long without any updates along the way? I think its a bit much.

Re: Final Nav Canada Interview
Awesome! I'm going to tour the YYZ facility next Wednesday. Any suggestions? Are there any particular questions I should ask, or are these tours more of a guided orientation thing?

I guess I'll see you then, I'm going on that tour also.tangel01 wrote:Awesome! I'm going to tour the YYZ facility next Wednesday. Any suggestions? Are there any particular questions I should ask, or are these tours more of a guided orientation thing?
It's meant to be 3 hours or so ("a three hour tour, a three hour tour"), so definitely more in-depth than the short tours I've done previously. I wonder how many of us will be there?
