If what is a YYZ base? They don't have a YYZ base if that's what you're asking. Try YTS for the most southern location.

nope, and I just saw that you're referring to their job posting from today. They'll come further south eventually, but not yet.

Re: Ornge
I'd assume that any southern vacancies would be awarded to existing pilots on a seniority basis.
You want to work for ORNGE, I'd suggest you invest in a Parka.

They pay 76K for captains, so I don't get it either. It's always captains too and never F/O's.

And...
If we're calling Timmins or Thunder Bay "north" then things aren't that bad out there and guys shouldn't be complaining. They should be so lucky to have to spend a couple years flying "that north".
Perhaps I met one of these guys yesterday, he was in a high end clothing store in Southern Ontario trying on a Snow Goose parka. I was curious where he was headed and inquired.
"Oh I LIVE up North"
...no kidding, where?
"Barrie"
He's now buried in my back yard.

Actually no, the point is there are a hell of a lot worse places to make 80 per year with 2000hours than Timmins.av8tor_assrope wrote:Here we go.....undo your zippers....I feel a c@ck comparing contest coming on.

Re: Ornge
They are already operating at least one plane out of Thunder Bay.
"The ability to ditch an airplane in the Hudson does not qualify a pilot for a pay raise. The ability to get the pilots, with this ability, to work for 30% or 40% pay cuts qualifies those in management for millions in bonuses."

Came through the Sault at the start of september....callsign Pulse? It looked like Ornge to me but I was about 1/2 mile away.
Re: Ornge
I am more than a little surprised ORNGE is still actively looking for captains. Talk about a cushy job! With the way the industry is today, they should be pretty much buried in resumes. Am I missing something? Are they looking for something "special"??
Re: Ornge
I heard they have all the pilot's they need. They are just "building" their respective pilot pool for the quitters. I think once they get a taste of the BS that goes on at Ornge's OCC they will get fed up pretty fast!
Re: Ornge
The old "i have a pile of resumes on my desk "trick hahahahahahahahaha
No pressure there ehhhh
Now that they have an International OC they may be flying a lot of snowbirds from down south home for treatment.Although i doubt they will be all treat and returns.Surprised that the CTA allowed it as it may give our neighbours another rock for the FAA/DOT to throw at us.They tried to stop the NHL charters ,so it may get strange if a government subsidized air service starts long haul ambulance trips dep into their market .
Some CEOs at not for profit quangos will often give themselves huge pay raises for themselves and their handpicked pals and do everything in their power to ensure that the quango never makes a profit.E health is a prime example of lack of good governance and pure waste of tax funds. This quango just spent over two hundred millions in a time of deficit on foreign built aircraft.Wat to show confidence in Canadas aviation industry from the same muppet show that brought you e-health

Re: Ornge
Actually...US to Canada and Canada to US is not the problem, either country's air carriers can provide this service. The objection was with a Canadian carrier providing service from one US city to another US city.
You are correct. Pulse is the ORNGE callsign.Came through the Sault at the start of september....callsign Pulse? It looked like Ornge to me but I was about 1/2 mile away.

It's basically a "government air service" and as such, you'd have to have bull shit up the ying yang!Beach 200 wrote:I heard they have all the pilot's they need. They're one "chip light" from a mass exodus.
The best "Brown Bear" of them all!
