Irony
I find it ironic that there are 2 job ads in the free job ads section, posted by/for a company that one is not allowed to discuss on this site? Every thread about this operator (yes, they usually end up as negative discussions) ends up being pulled.
My question, if they threaten the operator of this site with legal action in regards to those threads, why should Joe let them advertise for employees (for FREE) here??

Re: Irony
If someone threatens to sue AvCan they don't get their job listings posted. If a thread goes into a spiral dive and the posters completely ignore the posting rules, then that thread may be pulled without any lawyers being involved. I'm not actually sure what company you mean.

Re: Irony
Having just re-read the forum rules at the top of the thread list, I don't see anything that says we can't mention company names.
Just a quick look at the first page of the employment forum shows thread titles including the names of: Ornge, Sprint, Canadian Air Charter, Air Georgian, Pinnacle, Porter, Borek, CMA, Flight Exec, Sunwest, KFC, Morningstar, WCA, Wamair, Qatar, and others.
So if your question is about Arctic Sunwest, I'm sure it's ok to mention the name as long as you're not saying anything negative about them.

I fail to see why in a free country one can't speak their mind about an employer.
Now if what your spouting is incorrect drivel, then yes I can see the company getting angry.
If what your saying is correct...well the truth hurts sometimes. Suck it up.

You're quite right KAG, you do have the right to express any opinon that you want and to present any factual information that you want. However, nobody is under any legal obligation to publish or propagate your position. If Joe wants to duck lawyer's letters who can blame him? He's just a guy that thought it would be cool to provide other pilots with a website to hang around on.KAG wrote:I fail to see why in a free country one can't speak their mind about an employer.

I'm not saying you (KAG) don't have valid points to make or that you aren't trying to do some good, but you can't blame Joe for not wanting to get in the middle of your bun fight.

Hey don't get me wrong, I don't blame Joe for not wanting to get into legal battles when it's just cheaper and easier to remove threads after being threatened.
But if a company threatens you with lawsuits, why do them the favour of free job listings?
As to whether or not the previous discussions were fact-based, that would be difficult to prove since any perceived negative thoughts of that company result in removal of the thread with no attempt at defense on their part.

Re: Irony
This is getting perilously close to the censorship debate threads, and we all think we know where those ended up - or did they even exist in the first place?
