Just wondering if anyone knows of any lear 23/25 operators in southern Ontario. I would love to go and see one up close maybe get a tour or something . Definitely one of my favourite airplanes and one I hope to maybe fly some day.
Thanks !

Looks like you might be out of luck. According to the Canadian Civil Aircraft Register (http://www.tc.gc.ca/aviation/activepage ... search.asp), there are only 2 Learjet 20-series aircraft still registered in all of Canada (one in Victoria, BC and the other in Yellowknife). I guess the combination of high fuel prices and noise restrictions have really put an end to them. There was a Lear 24 on Ottawa and a Lear 25 in Toronto (Skycharter's) but they appear to have been de-registered in April and June of 2008. Just think what fuel prices were like last year and how thirsty those GE turbojets were and you can figure out why they are disappearing from the sky. I imagine trying to make them RVSM compliant would cost a pretty penny so many operators probably would just park them.
Your best bet of getting a chance to look one over is to keep an eye on you local airport via a flight tracker (i.e. http://www.FlightAware.com) and you might get lucky enough to have one show up from the US. Or if you have some money to burn, check out the Controller (http://www.controller.com) for some bargains.

http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N25P ... /KORF/CYYZ Lear 25 at Pearson right now!!!
Yup, the only Canadian ones, haven't been to Toronto in awhile - C-GBFP Lear 25B used to be based in Toronto,
it was owned by Joe Burnett - owner of the Ontario Food Terminal.
If you sign up at Flightaware for free!!!, and pick 5 Lear 25's that are most likely to visit Toronto, the one above
being one!, and sign up for free flight alert - if they file a flight plan for Toronto - you'll get an email.
Lear registrations can be found here http://www.laasdata.com/corpjet/ just click on aircraft type
or US Lears here http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry ... =&PageNo=1
and from any LAAS Canadian aircraft you see, enter the registration here http://www.tc.gc.ca/aviation/activepage ... search.asp

Almost no Lear 23s remain in service, most 23s were converted into 24s
Re: Lear 23/25 operators in Southern Ontario?
But . . . Click Here you can buy a repo;
actual Lear 23 N618BR sitting in Orlando - don't think its flown in a couple of years though.
There is a Lear 23 that is owned by an Ontario numbered company in St. Catharines click here N121CK and currently for sale for 295K, its parked in Naples Florida.
Also N123MJ based in Colorado the only RVSM Lear 23 out there!!!
There are also about 8 Lear 23's at Museums and Colleges.
Clay Lacy still has his Lear 23 N1965L in mint condition, parked in his hangar at Van Nuys.
But that is about it!!!
