Absolutely hire the King Air pilot. You are saying hire the guy without morals? WTF? Man you need a smackgelbisch wrote:I don't know about that. I can understand where the sentiment comes from, but put yourself in the place of a chief pilot or anyone in charge of hiring; if you're looking for a pilot and a qualified guy's resume crosses your desk, are you really going to be concerned about whether or not he paid an exorbitant bond in the past? 10000 hour guy with jet experience versus a 3000 hour King Air captain... you're going to go with the turboprop dude just on some moral grounds?...for the big three right now, the word is that JG people are in their blackbooks, i.e. No jobs there for them...
Maybe some would, but business are in business to make money, not to right wrongs in the industry.

An airline wants to make money and is likely not interested in how anyone involved in its pilot recruiting feels about training bonds and those that go for them. For reasons of safety, efficiency in operation and insurance, the most experienced people available are typically hired. Can you argue with that? My point was only that I highly doubt that most of these guys will be blacklisted, given that carriers need to fill the seats up front to make money, and I'm quite sure could not care less about what a candidate's peers think about what company he's worked for in the past.

Well hopefully they will consider how long this individual will stay with the company which he hopes will employ him. The pilot from Jetsgo might just leave as soon as the airlines are hiring again, since that's what he did last time. (hope I don't offend anyone who just lost their job, but that's the way I look at it.)
