If I recall correctly, aircraft induced damage to buildings is an exclusion on insurance policies.

My understanding is that "$100,000.00 per seat" liability is all that is required for private aircraft in Canada.

Coverage extended to third parties, ie: things or people you might damage or mame outside of your airplane , is optional.

I meant it's excluded on the building's policy. I can always go read it up on Monday at work since I do work for an insurance company. How much money you think the strata can get out of TC and the doctor's professional insurance? Or should I ask how much success?

Oh, I see what you're saying.. Good luck on that one. Before they'd even have a chance at making a case out of it, they'd have to prove that crash was as a direct result of the pilot's poor health and that that his health problems should have been easily identifiable by a reasonable and competant doctor at the time of that pilot's last physical.

I did just pull up the CAR requirement though. It is $300,000.00 per seat. Not 100K, as I stated above.

How many years between class 3 medical for older pilots anyway? They may as well sue BC Health Ministry for not creating an e-health database. Suing TC for certifying and licensing the aircraft is not going to fly since there are tons of the type flying around. May be sue them for having the airway right over their building.
