Re: ATPL application
Boy do guys really know how to beat the crap out of something so simple. If you are up north flying along on a company itinerary and fly through cloud it is IMC. You can change back and forth as much as you want between IFR and VFR IF you are not in controlled airspace. If you are flying around the arctic at night and have absoltely no visual reference and you are looking at the AI you are IMC. IF YOU HAVE NO VISUAL CLUES (WHICH MEANS YOU DON"T KNOW WHICH WAY IS UP OR DOWN YOU ARE IMC).
Re: ATPL application
Good to know, When i was adding up my required ATPL Instrument time, I was worried I may not have enough. Looks like I have plenty if this is indeed correct.turbo-prop wrote:Boy do guys really know how to beat the crap out of something so simple. It all comes down to one thing, what we say doesn't matter. Call the TC office you are going to apply at and ask them how they would/will count it.
You shouldn't need too much IMC time, the requirement is 75 hours, of that 25 can be sim. So you had minimum 40 hours to get your IFR, so at worst you need 35 more hours.

Take my love
Take my land
Take me where I cannot stand
I don't care
I'm still free
You cannot take the sky from me

"IMC" or "instrument meteorological conditions" - means meteorological conditions less than the minima specified in Division VI of Subpart 2 of Part VI for visual meteorological conditions, expressed in terms of visibility and distance from cloud; (IMC ou conditions météorologiques de vol aux instruments)
