They do have the nicest hangar for three 'hos and a 206, that I've ever seen. They are a single pilot operation, so the usual caveats apply. Be "man" enough to know your limits, and stick by them. If you don't know your limits, or can be "pushed", find something else. I think I'm being fair with this. If you're reasonable along these lines, I don't think it'll be a hassle. Most of the trips are short. YPM, and back to YRL, etc Pay is good, and on time. They have (or did have, last time I talked to the "boss") some interesting benefits.

*edit*
I was told I needed a university degree to work there, but upon reading Superior's post below, I can see that may not necessarily be the case!

Best of Luck

Well this goes back a few years as I helped start superior and haven't worked there for almost 5 years now.

however, Bill that does the maintenance is a great guy. If he doesn't like what he sees the plane will not go, as for the HO's for pilots there decked out, How many ho's have P2 audio advisories, Not many. there full leather interior which is great in the winter, on a 30+day in the summer when you wear shorts and sandals your ass tends to sweat a little bit.

Since Wild country has gone under superior has really taken off, pretty much took all there business which is quite abit hence the bringing on the 206 a few years back and now the 3rd navajo.

As for pay for Navajo's I personally don't think that you will find a better paying job, I made a small fortune for that type of aircraft. That being said, you better be ready to work, when it is dead of winter or a blizzard you better be ready to suck it up, get your plane ready, de-iced, warmed up, etc. all before your client is there, meaning possibly being at the airport up to 2 hours before flight. Now with the ramp crews there you shouldn't have to do that.

Next, I say this from the heart. As Doc said, know YOUR limits and stick to them. You will get pushed here(sorry boss, but you did), but when you are put your foot down and if need be tell the boss to F#$K O#F he will respect you more for it as he will know that plane willl come back in one piece. (Yes, the f$%K o#f part happened, i got many people to back it up)., In this I don't care if you got 200 hours, DO it everyones limits are different.

Now as I say this is from many years ago, recently they brought in the 206 and another Ho, They now built there one massive hanger so really No more wing/ehgine tents.(unless he didn't heat it, highly doughful though)

if you get on here, you will enjoy your time. there will be times like everywhere else though that you literally wanna freak out.

A small branch of topic, but I think its a great point. The point made by Flyinhigh about standing your ground when pushed is soo important. 99% of the time someone who has the balls to push you, will respect someone who has the balls/ovaries to tell them to stuff it. Not necessarily in so many words, there are professional/humorous ways to put things (I think I'll wait this one out boss, if I get covered in all that severe ice, no one will see your fancy paint! I'm just looking out for business) etc. If you let them push you at first, it will be harder and harder to stand up down the road. You know what they say; give em an inch and they'll take a mile. Anyways, back to the topic...

So here is the update right from the top:

Hangar is heated. We now have our own AMO and do not use outside maintenance. No, you don't need a university degree to work here. (Sometimes I am balls deep in loading freight and I get the phone call; ("Are you hiring because I want to work at Superior because I..." what the f*uck are you going to say to get him to hang up so you can get the ho loaded?)

The pay is okay but could always be better...yes, you work hard but in 5 years the pay cheques have always cleared and all the pilots that have moved put their time in are all multi turbine captains or on jets now.

Pushing pilots? At the end of the day, no one is putting a gun to your head to do a flight and no one has been penalized for refusing a flight. Its a balancing act between suspending flights when the weather is down and flying in marginal conditions. You push too far and things happen and likewise you suspend everything in light icing and you'll only fly half the month.

How to get hired? One of two ways: a reference from a current employee who can vouch for you or a resume that stands out from the common ones. Anyone who chooses to bartend after college instead of working in an aviation environment is basically saying,"I have no passion for aviation and I am not willing to put myself out to further my career." The only thing a university degree accomplishes is to demonstrate perserverance and committment to something for 4 years. Many other things can do the same thing so its up to the applicant to demonstrate that they are the best candidate for the position.

That's all I have to say for now and thank you for all the previous applicants and I never pretended I was normal and yes, I have some problems but nothing that 2 months in-country can't fix.

Later...

And what world are you living in? WTFO?

For a guy fresh out of flight school, your ''know it all attitude'' is not going to be an asset as you look for that ''first job''.

I was just going based on what I had been told. Wasn't trying to act cocky or offend anyone.
