FlightAware had just arrived direct from Farnbourough (London UK)

Owners of N800PJ

As I've not seen anything in the press, I hope there are no injuries.
Odd, that yesterday in another post, the accident of Toronto based Breathour Realty's Sabreliner
back in the 70's near the same airport.

No injuries in Iqaluit plane crash
Last Updated: Monday, December 7, 2009 | 11:04 AM CT

A business jet that was trying to land in Iqaluit on Sunday veered off the runway and crashed through a fence. None of the three people on board the jet was injured. The U.S.-registered Galaxy G200 business jet landed in Iqaluit shortly after 11 a.m. ET Sunday, during a stop on a flight from England to San Jose, Calif. It is unclear what caused the plane to crash through a fence west of the runway. The federal Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.

Likely a good thing the ground has been frozen for the last 2 months!!!! Probably helped keep the gear attached.

Great photos. I imagine that the leading edge of the wings and the nose took most of the hit when they went through the fence. Where did they end up? Is that just past Echo taxiway? Sure was lucky that everything was frozen and that rock outcrop wasn't in the way. Are those tracks just from the aircraft or the rescue vehicles?

Thanks, yes just past taxiway Echo and the rock outcrop next to the FOL. I agree frozen ground must have really helped. From what I can tell there are 4 big ruts from the 2 rescue trucks and maybe one single rut to the left looks like it may have been from the plane but not sure. Didn't want to get too close so I couldn't get a pic of the nose. Glad everyone walked away and no injuries. This plane was a regular at YFB.

A new "ice" taxiway was constructed today to haul him out. One of the wings took a substantial blow because the aircraft was actually spun 180 degrees from the direction in which it departed the runway.

I do appreciate the fact that as the aircraft spun around, he did, indeed, for the record, click the mic and gleefully state "WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Some of the above is based on fact and speculation.

Haha skadoo, he just did a 180 because he pulled the handbreak. Fence got in the way.
