Actually. It's really quite unfortunate. That plane went down in Jan 2007 just outside of Yellowknife. 3 dead 1 survivor. The pilot was a roommate for 1.5 months before hand. We had both just come to Yellowknife at the same time living at the float base together. RIP Jason.
Sorry to bring down the mood of the thread, I just still think about that alot, and the picture just brought out some memories.
Cheers

Might as well lighten the mood a little with a few pics of the current fleet.

soooo, are they going to put a security check point there? I'm sure VANOC would consider it, you should send them a letter!

Flying airplanes is easy, you just need to PAY ATTENTION. Finding a good job on the other hand takes experience, practice, and some serious talent.

Did you clear the strip with the sled on the right, or did you have a cat up there?

ETA: Whichever, it looks like great fun - and not much need to worry about slush on the ice...

We occaisonally fly for Whistler heli sledder and they have a snowcat up there which makes life a lot easier with a heavy airplane like the otter in deep snow with small skis.

Not aircraft related - but just because I can in this climate.... Sunday morning, Sydney Harbour, on the boat we'll be taking to the Marquesas Islands in March.

STL,

What were you flying? SWMBO told me about a pair of helicopters flying around our place in False Creek, one Yellow and one Black(?). I see you were down by Burrard Street and over Burrard Inlet.
I've left face prints on all the glass in my apartment watching the black 'copters flying low over False Creek over the past week. :D

Hi Shayne,

We were in two yellow ones Friday afternoon. False Creek, the harbour, Stanely Park, UBC. The military have a bunch of dark green 412's in the area now for the Games, and they are doing a bit of flying, and Blackcomb helicopters has a couple black Astars and Twin Stars as well - so basically it could have been just about anyone.... sorry, not a lot of help!

Nice to hear you left some face prints though. :smt023

Let me know what building you're in, I'll :butthead: you next time...
