Firefighting
Hi!
I'm planning to come in Vancouver to complete CPL/IR/ME. My dream is to be a Firefighting pilot (ie CL215).
I'm a 350hrs TT PPL mostly on tail wheel aerobatic aircraft. (Pitts S2B, T6, Yak52, AN2)
What are minimums requirements for those companies that operates firefighting aircraft?
Is there a training "way" that I have to favour?
And honestly: do I have a chance to take a right seat in those companies?
Thanks.
Rémi.

The bottom line. Mins everywhere are around 3500 TT, 500 MEPIC, 1000 float. Don't even bother applying with 350 hrs.
If you want to get into the firebombing business make sure you understand the lifestyle implications and plan on working for companies that will give you the skills you need to meet the above minimums.

Re: Firefighting
Exactly what Big Pistons said! Bush & float experience helps a fair bit..
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?
