Re: Kenora air
one has to ask why all their "junk" has been up for sale for years?
Re: Kenora air
bye the looks of things they must be on the outs for real this time. i believe the neighbours across the dock are yanking the last bit of flying they have.
Re: Kenora air
You should just buy it then Mr North. Maybe they will start giving all those beavers away!!!!
Re: Kenora air
Well you might get AQJ cheap needs a new engine but flys straight and true! She was almost ready for an overhaul when i was there. She might not have been pretty on the inside but she got the job done! Wonder how much they would want for it?

Re: Kenora air
I quite liked NOT... and ODO flew well too. I hears NOT got put into the trees at some point? wha happen?
Re: Kenora air
ODO was a nice bird as well as JEI. Both flew fine, usually those were the YRL Machines. My personal favorite was QJ with the nicer floats and float hatches! Ah NOT, sad story there, rumor was, ya sorry can't back it up, was got leased out, pilot came picked her up and was trying to fly up to the territories, guess he skipped a fuel stop thinking they didn't need it and started to get worried and starting learning it out. You know where this ends up, chunk of siezed aluminum in the corner of Kubys shop!

Re: Kenora air

Re: Kenora air
Damn -- don't those registrations bring back memories -- AJQ was originally american registered crashed somewhere near armstrong - all died except the pilot I think and all that perished drowned. OCA rebuilt it and it was always a good performer - and if memory serves me right Barney put the MK IV floats on it -- but I might be having a grey moment --
-- JEI was in RL when I first started flying and Gilbert Burton had it in God's Narrows too
This trip down memory lane is making me thirsty -- damn

C-GAQJ was imported into Canada around 1975 and I think ex-military. Belonged to Al Geary at Sportsman`s Lodge, Little V. I remember when it had duals and still has the pain in the ass seat. It`s on 4930`s and next to JEI,one of Kenora Air`s better performers.
Liquid Charlie maybe your thinking of MRS or IKP?

Re: Kenora air
Well JEI ( I flew it a little) I know for sure -- AJQ I will have to look into -- There was a beaver that was salvaged and rebuilt - maybe someone else can remember that registration - The story was right -- just maybe a little grey moment for the registration -- lol -- anyone know what beaver they put the norseman floats on -- cuz I believe that's the airplane I'm thinking of.

Re: Kenora air
I heard the doors were closed at the hanger right now. Nobody working. Wonder what is going to happen this summer.
Re: Kenora air
I have word that they will be flying this summer again. Not sure how busy they'll be though.

Yes, word of advice in today's economy if you want sell anything in aviation put it for sale several years before you really want to sell it. You might get lucky!Bushav8er wrote:From what I've seen, they've had everything for sale for years now.
Arguing with a pilot is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a while you begin to think the pig likes it.
Re: Kenora air
The sweetest flying beaver I have ever flown is sitting at an AMO gathering moss. Low time (3,000 hr?) , awesome takeoff, nice flying. I believe it is for sale for less than $250K. This is now year 3 with no takers, and yes, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it!
What little I do know is either not important or I've forgotten it!
