Type IV on the fuselage?

That's interesting, considering we were told Type IV on the fuse was dangerous to the operation of the aircraft, seeping into vents, APU intakes because of its thickness, and also obscuring the windscreen...

Another knee-jerk reaction provided to you by the FAA.

"CAUTION" (I'm paraphrasing the QRH)
Never allow them to spray the windshield or side windows.
Never on brakes.
Under no circumstances should spray be directed at the trailing edges of control surfaces.
Avoid APU intakes.

Read yer books.

Maybe their drivers are grumpy, and they thought they saw a snowflake and wanted to cost themselves a couple extra dollars? Or maybe they were getting close to thier duty end time, and the deicing stunt would get them out of another trip? The plot thickens....
