They were off for 2 or 3 days on U.S. flights and flights through U.S. airspace only but, are back on now.
Cheers!

I think I missed something. What did 12/25 have to do with IFE screens?
Also, I flew AC and United on 12/27 and 01/09 and IFE was on for all four flights.

Except over the past month and a half, Their where no TV's on 2 out of 3 of my flights.
I believe its a massive conspiracy to slowly eliminate the TV and slide their inflight entertainments to the dredges of EasyJet and RyanAir, or it could be the fact that it was a new plane with nice comfy leather seats not yet equipt with the TV's.

The tv's were off for a week ,and if they are serviceable, should be on for all flights now...

They'll head to MCO for install. WS is putting in a new system with larger TVs.

I believe we received 4, possibly 5, new aircraft in the last 2 months of 2009. The aircraft do not come from Boeing with the Live TV installed. As mentioned above, this is done in MCO. We were "asked" by the Feds in the U.S. to disable our TV's while flying in or through their airspace because ours is again, a Live TV system with Live Map. This restriction has since been lifted but others remain in place such as limited carry on and no P.A.'s pointing out geographical points of interested or refering to location of the aircraft or routed being flown. Not our rules, just ones we have to play by.

Flew YYZ-MBJ return last weekend and Live TV was definitely on. Pay movies and the moving map were available as well. We flew over the US down to Florida then straight to MBJ over Cuba. Return trip was the opposite. Seems like all is back to normal.

YVR-YYC and back. IFE was on and flew on one of the newest 700s. Bigger TVs.
Didn't even have rain stains.
