No sleep and wondering about mortgage payments and such...yeah, no sleep ought to help work when trying to lose weight...
Stay positive and try to get over it with ease, there are a lot of cash jobs out there that you can do temporarily and make some money to pay bills while you live within the means of the situation !!!
I know it is hard, but hey alot of people go through it every now and then..
Good luck
PS. If that was me I would be gaining weight

So everybody, how goes the challenge now? Still at it or has it gone by the wayside?

Re: avcanada weight loss challenge
Back at 163 for me. I tore my achilles tendon last june, so I've been rehabbing ever since. I'm going to run a 10k this weekend - the first race back. If that goes well, I'll resume my marathon training, and see how things go (gotta beat Nark's time!
) I'd still like to get down to 155 ish, but icecream is so tasty!

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Why do you think every bush pilot wants to fly an otter? It's much easier to fly a bigger float plane than to lose 40 pounds. (I'm 241 last medical, 7'9"
)

Drinking lots of coffee lately, at a nice safe jungle desk, wishing I were flying......

F@*K, gained 5 lbs since September! Back up to 165, and I was down in the 150s this time last year... Still chasing the 26.2, tho..

Why the heck did you have to bump this thread... now I feel bad, still about 220, but I don't feel fat when I'm lying in bed!

For those that could use a little direction:
http://tiny.cc/wNpuz
The Action Hero Body: The Complete Workout Secrets from Hollywood's Top Trainer
by Jorgen de Mey
Cheezy title, but good advice on diet, exercise and vitamins/supplements from a guy that's paid to make Hollywood stars look buff, fast.
I managed to bring myself down to 160lbs from a high of 186, but this book helped chip away those last 10. You may have to find it at Amazon or used...
Alternatively, you could say "Fornicate diets, give me REAL food!":

Take a look through the archive and see if anything looks familiar...my personal favorite, The Double Coronary Burger!

I don't think weight is a problem for your goal of being an airline pilot. I was questioning this a while back too but have been proved wrong. I was at an aviation party not too long ago and I ran into two Air Canada pilot's, both of which were so called "recently" hired. So one of the last people in the last hiring pool they had. Both of them were BMI+35. Luckily, they had no problems with BP and other health related issues that could arise from being overweight. And the BMI+35 was not as a result of muscle, they had flabberons (whatever you think that is).Pilot_adam wrote:So as I am planing to start a career in aviation and becoming an airline pilot one day, I have decided to take my health seriously and start something positive ..
Right now I am at my heaviest ever (5'9" , 250 Pounds), I want to make this more exciting for those who want to lose weight, so join me and Lets start a weight loss challenge here on avcanada and inspire each others for better and healthier us.
Over the next few months (4-5 months) I am planing to get down to 200 pounds being my realistic goal (20% of my body weight).
2 years ago I lost 30 pounds just by watching what I ate and exercising ( from 220-190), so now I will do the same !!!
Who is in on that !!!
Cheers
Adam
But good on you for wanting to become more healthy. I will have to join this challenge too ! Starting my bernstein diet next week. Got my appointment booked... whoot !

I'll just sneak through here... they'll never see me if I stay low.
Re: avcanada weight loss challenge
I went from 6'0 205-ish down to 190-ish over 6 months using the Marine Corps "high stress diet". (working 12 hours days, for an asshole of a boss)
Having been out for two months now, I just watch what I eat, and I'm maintaining my weight.
Of course calorie input = calorie output also helps.

Gotta catch me first! And, even if you do, I've been told that after 15 years flying for a living, I'm really bitter!toelessjoe wrote: By the by, to all the guys complaining about being 160ish, I hope we never meet. I may eat you.

(I suppose, though, given the #'s, I shouldn't complain too loudly..)

Re: avcanada weight loss challenge
Being in love, six weeks away from the loved one does it! In January last year, I lost 10 kilos in six weeks! Loss of appetite, and one hour of walking after work did it. Had to buy new clothes, but life is great now at 73kgs for 173 cms! (ideal weight)
