The first area nav set I used was DECCA, I guess that makes me a super old geezer

I can hardly wait for the day when I can brag about using a compass, back when the magnetic north pole was still in the arctic! I'm also looking forward to telling young future aviators how I did my PPL with out a full autopilot!

I feel old everytime they talk about solo spins prohibited for the CPL, I was doing solo spins on a SPP and spin demo on the PPL flight test.

Oddly enough I do remember seeing the delay chart for the Chain out here on the West Coast... Even visited one of the Master Stations at Riske Creek. That's one HUGE antenna.

I remember back in the day before AFIS and Datalink, I actually had to MANUALLY enter the flight plan into the FMS.....It was hell. Especially on flights over a couple of hours.....there had to be a couple of dozen waypoints at least and man were my fingers tired after that......
