AC Damages WS Aircraft in YVR

Post by mikeecho »

I heard that an improperly stored AC cargo container blew into a WS 800 series in YVR yesterday.

Some Hawaii flights cancelled and a lot of repairs? Anyone have any info?

Parent jokes? Nice work. Must be hiding to repressed feelings from your childhood. Good luck with that.

2nd hand information, but here goes:

Story says, WS was parked on the A gates, probably 1. AC can was left on B gates, probably 12. The wind storm was quite ferocious, snapped off quite a few plastic signs in the public area.

Was an AC can, that is the only part that was reasonably well confirmed. Apparently WS was hit in the nose, that is the most un-confirmed part of the story.

Can't really blame AC, everybody leaves those cans everywhere, just sitting on the ramp. If it was the C gates it could have come from anybody, there is no order on that ramp.

Again, 2nd hand story, but something.

Nope,

Sulako has advised me that picking on Mods earns a double whammy.

I'm gonna be extra nice now.

Really,

Is there an effective date to the change of resume? There may be an argument to request arbitration and have one of my whammies removed.

I was told that another WJ aircraft (this time in YUL) was damaged by a wayward AC cargo container last week.

Apparently a brand new 700 series which was taken out of service a few days.

Is it that hard to put the tiongues up on the catrs/dollies? I know in the old days, places like YVR used to leave the tongues down to indicate that the carts/dollies were spoken for, but is that still the case? Does it happen in other bases.

Nowadays, tongues down means a lazy rampie didn't feel like getting off the tug to put the brake on.
