Hi, I'm looking for more info on this job in the testing department in Bombardier in Mirabel. What it's like, and what,s the money over there ? My gues is you 're flying a/c coming from the assembly line to see if everything is ok but what else ?

1. Production test flights. New CRJ 700/900 and CL850 coming out of the factory, or CL 605/300 from the other factory.
2. Completion test flights on business jets coming out of interiors completion at places like St. Louis and Savannah. Sometimes lots of sitting waiting for paperwork etc.
3. Airline start-up support. Gone for a fortnight to a month flying airline ops with new customers ANYWHERE in the world
4. Occasional demo stuff
5. Developing flight test profiles, working with continuing airworthiness on issues, and training in the sim at the training centre in Dorval.
6. test flying/ferrying used aircraft around as they come off lease and go through refurbishment and deploy to new customers.

pay.......start at around 75000/year and tops at around 120000/year....... overtime get paid.....hummmm, i will let somebody else comment on this one. Those were 2009 figures, it might have changed but I doubt it. Biggest complain......no real roster, and last minute changes. Usually, if you get on the business side, you usually stay there and vice versa. there are exceptions....hope that help.
