NavAir Gets Alberta contract

Post by CAWI »

It appears Navair is taking over the contract from Dynamics in YYC. They start flying in June. They will be looking for around 14 Navajo drivers.....Goodluck

Don't count on it. They may move 1 or 2 captains from vancouver, if their idiots, the rest will be the left overs from Dynamic's or other Navajo operators in YYC. No co-pilot in their right mind from Vancouver would move to Alberta for Navair to make 80 dollars a day. It's simply not worth their trouble. But it is cetainly great they've expaned as long as it doesn't steal the jobs of the Dynamics guys...

Lets see. Its about half the cost to live in YYC, so their 80 dollars a day will go alot further, most guys starting out can put everything they own in their car so moving wouldn't be that big of a deal. They might be able to wrangle an upgrade out of the move. I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys at least look at making the move to YYC.

Good for Nav.....They will do just fine in YYC. Nice to see them finally breaking out of their bubble and I am pretty sure they will take care of their own first.

You gotta be fucking kidding me.....take care of their own.....when is that ever happend. Im just saying that theres alot of opportunity for Alberta guys. Anybody from Van City is gotta to be fuc'in nutz. Do you think for one second they will pay for your move? Not likley. Is it worth the upgrade when you might make captian in YVR in one year. I, and a ton of others think not. This post is for Alberta pilots....only!

Wow if it meant an upgrade I would have been gone in a heartbeat. Wait a year and not only are you and a ton of others probably 600-800hrs behind in MPIC time but you are also out about 20,000 difference in pay!! (just doing rough math by the figures that were put out there 100 day difference x about 200 days, please correct me if my numbers are way out of wack) Thats alot to give up early in someones career just to stay in YVR. So what if they don't pay for your move. Even if it costs you 3 grand to move, over the year you are still ahead alot of money. Take the command time where you can!

80 quid a day would be great that would be $182 CAD and 180 quid for a captain would be $410 CAD. But alas the pay is $80 and $180 lowly Canadian dollars. Too bad I'd drive a 'ho for $400 a day!

ok first thing the pay is not that much at all. the fo pay is right with no miles. capts make around 2000 a month on average. unless is has gone up in the last few years. this contract out of yyc has always been navairs. This topic has been going around for years that they were going to do it. I'll guess we'll just wait and see what happans.

Here it is.....just got off the phone with the Chief Pilot. Its is 80 dollars a day for captain plus 5 dollars for every year your there. F/o's get 60 dollars a day. I also understand that the mutoo drivers get 100 dollars a day for Capt. and 80 for f/o. they also get 18c /mile.

With this growth, is there any speculation about how this will effect their track record of never having hired a woman Pilot.
How big do you have to get before people notice?

 With this new contract, do you think that D  B can actually get past his god complex and fix the airplanes according to the CAR's?
I mean really all you pilots out there, have you had a look at ANY of their crap on the ramp? Have a look at the deice boots on any of the a/c and tell me if you'd want to cross the rocks at night with those!! TC has left them pretty much alone 'cause the lions share of their flying was local(YVR YYC)
Just wait until they are ramped by TC in Calgary with that crap!! Look out!

I wonder if Nav has also been left alone considering a TC inspector was a former employee hmmmm...
