Bombardier Flexjet Canada layoffs

Post by Cap'n P8 »

Not that many people really knew we existed, but for those who did and were interested in possibly joining Flexjet Canada, we just laid off three crewmembers, reducing the staffing on the two LR45's from seven pilots to four.

In related news Cap'n P8: cunning linguist (so my wife tells me), pilot extraordinaire (admittedly self-proclaimed) and all around good guy (also self-proclaimed) is looking for work...all leads welcome!

End shameless personal plug!

PS It was a pleasure boys, keep in touch!

Yeah, I naively thought it was my retirement gig for a while. I was finally able to move my family home after over seven years on the road! Good times while it lasted. Great bunch of people (only ten guys on three aircraft). CP on the Canadian side is a fantastic guy and has been pulling out all the stops to try and help us find something else. Hoping for a few interviews shortly. VERY DISAPPOINTED with senior management on the US side who actually controlled the show. I just found out that they knew over a month ago that it was coming and they gave us zero warning. They had to lay off quite a few pilots on the US side in the last year, but at least gave them warnings of the impending trouble. Feeling very much submarined as I had a few potential prospects earlier that I could have jumped on had I known there was trouble brewing.

Cheers all!

Sorry to hear of your, "no warning" layoff, I'm in a similar boat... unfortunately it's a sign of the times these days, very slow, especially in the "Great White North"...

Sorry to hear that Andrew, but don't give up on B.A, once the economy picks up again you'll be in the left seat in a heart beat. Worse case scenario, you will be able to get a spot on the production side. Scott, one of the last to be hired on the 605 came from Sky service and he was on the lear......no EFIS experience.
All the best !
