Actually, I used to do some work for Donald K Donald setting up venues, buying radio time, arranging for security by off-duty cops, emceeing the concert, etc. It was a quick way to make some tax-free bucks peeled right off the top from the gate receipts and then go on my merry way.

Mashmakhan at the Montreal Forum during the summer of 1970 was quite a performance. I was working at CKGM radio then ... the number 1 rock station in the city. Oh, and of course, I got in free too.

That was when I was proud to play Canadian talent on-air .... once the Liberal govt sum forced us to play it at the rate of 35% I obstructed it in every way possible and still detest CANCON as a matter of principle due to govt intervention. Yeah, so there are some good Canuck singers ... so get in contact with me via PM and I'll mail you a quarter to phone somebody who cares, and over the last 40 years I've heard it all, so don't bother trying to assail me with any Pierre Trudeau government brainwashed drivel.

The "warm up band" was Stevie Wonder with Martha Reeves & The Vandellas .. quite a show.

Its having wasted a couple of years of my life as a peripheral member of the so-called "counter culture" that makes me appreciate my current outlook on life, and that I'm now blessedly able to identify a scumbag because I have observed the inner operations of the belly of the beast.
