Finnair retires the MD-11 from passenger service

Small news perhaps, but since Finnair retired the MD-11 from scheduled passenger traffic yesterday, Feb 22, that only leaves one operator, KLM, who still use it on intercontinental passenger flights. The last MD-11 flight arrived from Delhi yesterday afternoon. Even the captain had to admit publicly that the A330´s and A340´s save about 20 % in fuel on the same routes - and he retired too, at the same time. Can´t beat the bean counters, I suppose.
